My best guy friend is coming into town this Saturday, and I haven't seen him in a year. I wanted to make him a small gift basket, because I don't want him to have to lug around common things like shampoo, shaving creame, and conditioner - etc. What are some small little gifts that I can put in here? That would be a necessity. He's 19 & a guy, obviously.
Thanks so much! ;D
Answer
A comb or a brush. If he's not staying in a hotel, then he'll need a washcloth or a loofah and a towel. Some hotels provide shampoo and conditioner but not shaving cream, so that's a good one to put in. Maybe some aftershave. A toothbrush and some toothpaste. Maybe a guy's magazine, like Esquire, would be good.

Subscription Gift Ideas for a Man?
Q. What's are some good gift ideas for "gifts that keep on giving" (i.e. magazine subscriptions, [blank] of the month clubs)?
There's a man in my life to whom I've started giving "subscription" gifts. Last holiday season, I gave him a subscription to ESPN magazine, because he likes sports. I've started doing my holiday shopping. I like to (at least) plan and set aside the cash during the summer. What can I give him for the 2011 holiday season?
Please note: He doesn't drink alcohol, so don't suggest "beer of the month", "wine of the month" or any other such club. He doesn't smoke, so ditto for tobacco products. He *is* a huge sports aficionado, esp. American Football (and to a lesser extent basketball). Thanks, in advance.

GQ, Men's Health, Sports Illustrated are all really good with lots of enjoyable articles. If likes Pro Football, he might like Pro Football Weekly. It comes out with a new magazine every week during football season (30 Weeks), and every team has it's own beat writer which is nice.
I have friend who is into Men's Journal and he really likes it. I've heard good things about Esquire as well, but I like GQ better.
