My Husband and I have 3 young children and have just bought a new house.
I usually spent a lot on people and buy the "best". This yr I have decided that it is about my children and I am not willing to go into debt to please other people.
I have 3 young family members who are all single and live alone... I got them each a $15 Subway gift card and thats it. I feel as though they can stop on the way home from work or something and have the gift card to use.... It is more practical then anything.

My mother always told me to give cheap gifts that people can use. People will appreciate cheap things they can use more than an expensive one they cannot. Plus, if it is inexpensive, they do not feel "obligated" to get you an equally expensive gift. They just enjoy the fact that you remembered them. Receiving an expensive gift is really a burden. Gift cards are great.

I'm 18 and unfortunately low on money this Christmas and out of a job but I still want to celebrate Christmas and get my boyfriend a present. I'm just learning how to knit so I can make simple things for him, but I'm still a beginner.

He LOVES music and writes his own songs. He's also a writer and is in the process of writing a story. I have no clue what to do with that though. I'm really good at drawing, painting, baking (not cooking though, ha) and I'm in the process of learning to knit.

So I'm guessing this is a visa gift card that works anywhere, or just at walmart? Anyway, the only thing that I can think of is that the gift card only has a certain amount of money on it, and you're trying to use more than that amount. This is obnoxious, but I know that at the store I work at you have to know the exact amount on the visa gift card, and if you attempt to put on anything over that amount it won't go through at all (like, if your total is $40 and your giftcard is only $25 you would have to specify you wanted to use the giftcard for 25, you couldn't just swipe it and have the machine tell you that there is a 15 dollar balance) I don't know if they work like that online though, but I'm guessing that it's possible. Visa gift cards are a pain.

I am 16 and I have no idea what to get my boyfriend of 2 months for Christmas, we wont be in the same country for the holidays so i really need a cute idea because i want him to know that he will be missed ( he is going to be gone for 5 weeks!!) anyways any ideas would be great

I would say the MOST ABSOLUTE PERFECT THING you could do for his birthday, as long as it's in your power, is to spend more time than just an hour with him. Give him some of your time for his birthday. I'd feel awkward if I just started dating someone and he gave me a gift.

Hopefully, there will be plenty of other birthdays to give him a real present, but right now, you two need to spend time together.

Face to face, not in a chat room or anything super lame like that.

So I've been friends with this guy for a while, and we went on a couple dates recently. My birthday was about a month ago, and he took me out to dinner to this really cute Thai restaurant and we spent the rest of the night talking (we're really close now that we've basically poured our hearts out to each other).

It's his birthday this saturday and I want to do something nice for him. We're not officially dating, so I don't want to be extravagant about it. Also, I don't want to spend too much on him (he's not my boyfriend yet!), but he's got expensive taste.

I was thinking taking him out to dinner and maybe a comedy club or trying to find tix to a local concert of some band he may like...I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions? He has a lot of s**t going on in his life right now and I want to give him a good birthday and a night he's really enjoy (please, guys, don't suggest anything dirty).

If I am going through a lot of poop in my life, I would rather receive a present which is well-thought through rather than just plain expensive.

I would suggest a box of chocolate properly wrapped with a birthday card that has a lot of meaning notes on it [show that you care]. Tell him what you think, he will understand

How to deliver secret santa gifts?

Ok, so in my class in high school, we do this secret santa thing, and we have to deliver one present a day to a person. SO Friday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday I have to get this person a gift. I know their interests (fav. animal, movie, candy, etc), but I wanted to deliver these gifts in a creative fun way. Any ideas? (these gifts are cheap, $1-5)

day1- put gift in their seat, so that way they can find it.
day 2- do you know the locker combo, or can you get it? If so, then put the gift inside locker,
day 3- have their best friend deliver it to them, and say that it was from their secret santa. (if you want to be really sneaky, then give the gift to someone you trust to give to that person's friend)
day 4- put gift in their car(if they have one) or leave it at their house

have fun, and dont forget to have a small card that says

Yes !! I also got the heat changing mug for being at level 5 ! I would of got a tshirt but they kept deleting my account at level 5 and i had to start again over and over...

To be fair... i preferred the mug to the tshirt.... i really can't be patrolling the streets in a yahoo answers tshirt... people mighty stop me and talk to me and kill my major fantasies about what my contacts REALLY look like.....
