1 year anniversary gift idea?

On july 9 me and my girlfriend will have been dating for a year. I want to give her the best day ever. I plan on spending the whole day with her then coming back to my house in the night. I want to do something for her that would make her happy and surprise her. (For example this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnVAE91E7kM except obviously i am not proposing, just that idea.) i am only 14 years old so i can't drive her anywhere so i need something that we could do within walking distance. i was thinking something to do with the beach because there is one very near my house. There could be a surprise waiting for her when we get there or something. (the beach is private so there wouldn't be any other people there.) hopefully you can come up with some ideas for me. (Im not looking for presents to get her, im looking for things to do for her.)

Alright, so. What you gotta do is make her an awesome card :). What i did for my one year anniversary was draw a horrible portrait of her, (using the one that napolean drew for trisha in napolean dynamite as my inspiration and model), and on the inside wrote 'i spent like 3 hours shading the upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done. <-- if you've seen napolean dynamite you'll understand that.

But also, walk down to the beach casually, and maybe have a picnic basket waiting in the bushes or something and 'accidentily' stumble upon it. "wow what could this be?! a picnic basket! :O lets open it :) and see whats inside" - act corny on purpose for extra cuteness xD. She'd like that so much. chocolate strawberries perhaps? and a nice cloth to sit on.

Thats my idea :D! i think its pretty good :).

I hate gift cards as well. Most of them are a rip-off and you're better off handing someone $25 (just think, they can use it at any store, they'll get the change, no fees, no expiration date...)

Off the top of my head:
-heated throw blanket (if you can find one, I found a nice one for $24 and I know my family would fight over it)
-an edible gift basket or cookies of some sort (assortment of cheeses and beef sticks for instance, or really nice cookies or something.)
-something electronic (CD-player, MP3 player, etc.)
-something weird. (My hubby had a nerf gun that he brought to a family thing like that. They fought over it like you wouldn't believe! Boys and girls, men and women, would fight over it and shoot one another, it was funny and weird and great!)

Help with parents' anniversary gift?

Ok so my parent's anniversary is coming up in like 4 days and I don't know what to get. I'm only 14 so I don't have a fortune to spend on some amazing expensive gift. What can I give them that seems sincere? Thank you!!!

I used to do this when I was little, but it would probably still be a well received gift. I'd make up a bunch of coupons for around the house stuff, like- this coupon is good for one night of washing dishes or weeks worth of laundry with no whining, or for making dinner or watching a sibling, or a family game night instead of going out with friends. If you have any cash at all, flowers are usually safe, or even a 10 dollar gift card somewhere for them to go on a date. They know you don't have lots of cash but they might like the idea of a date. I used to put the coupons in a vase or cup or staple them to a vase I made out of construction paper along with some paper flowers. If you have siblings or someone who might like to help you with a present you could always combine forces and buy them something, but if not- homemade and sentimental is usually a safe route to go.

Gift for your bridesmaids?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in about a month. The bride asked me the other day what she should get us as gifts, and I busted out laughing since generally it's a 'surprise'. LOL. Anyway I told her that jewelry to wear during the wedding is generally what you get but she said she did buy us earrings but they were cheap and not enough to be considered a 'gift'. I told her not to worry but she still asked for my advice, so I think she's having trouble coming up with something.

I think she wants (and I'm sure we do too, since some of us have been in multiple weddings lately) to get us something 'different' or 'unique'....so not the normal stuff.
I happen to use wristlets all the time and suggested that she could get us wristlets with our names embroidered...but I don't know how much that would cost or if the other girls would even like it.
So what are some gifts you've gotten your bridesmaids that they seemed to really like or if you've been a bridesmaid and gotten an awesome gift, what was it?

She's not planning on spending a ton of money I"m sure so ~30ish dollars would be a good starting point. I've embarked on a search on Etsy in the meantime.

The best gifts I have ever gotten for being in weddings were always the gifts given by brides who didn't try to do the matching gifts nonsense and just got us stuff they knew we would like.

For example, when I was in my oldest brother's wedding, we all got the same basic thing, a necklace with a rock from the lake my brother met his wife at, BUT the bride made them all to each of the bridemaids individual styles. So I got a necklace with a black rock on a bad ass industrial looking chain, another bridesmaid got a copper colored rock on a delicate silver chain, and so on. In other weddings I've gotten books I've been meaning to read, CDs, gift cards to Game Stop, all stuff the bride knows I actually LIKE. The other girls all got stuff that matched their tastes and interests as well.

First of all - Yom Kippur is not a "happy" holiday. It will be weird if you give Jewish people presents on that day (even insulting!).

Second, (as for Rosh Hashana) you can go for the simple things that you can find anywhere - this specific holiday is all about the beginning of a new year- so the kind of things you will buy for a person who moved into a new house will be just right.
Another nice options is a package of wine and chocolates (though if your friends are pretty religious- look for "Kosher" mark on the products, a big "K" and the name of rabbinate who gave it).

When my wife was still alive and birthday time came around we always spoiled each other badly. Breakfast in bed, spend a little too much on a gift, then a romantic evening complete with candlelit dinner and an amazing night of sleep ;-) Back then I would have never even thought about buying myself a gift.

Now that I'm single I usually spend my birthday with some of my family or hers. Going into the city for lunch and a movie or something like that. I always buy myself a gift, nothing extravagant but something absolutely unnecessary.

My boyfriend's birthday is in a month and I wanna start early on getting it all together. I wanna get him 18 different gifts like 18 of one 17 of another all the way down i have a couple ideas the only issue is i can't spend a whole lot but we are really close so cheesy gifts would work too since he needs to lighten up. So far I have (and the number isn't in stone yet just ideas that would work)

My boyfriend turned 18 this past summer and i got him about 7 presents some we kind of pricey and some weren't at all!

You should go on Walgreens or shutterfly.com(which i used)and make him a small picture book of the two of you.(I made my boyfriend about a 30 page book of this past year together!)

He is a big hunter and fisher so i got him a tackle box so if he is into that get him one of those or maybe like some fishing bobbers or plastic worms! so then if you get him multiple packages of those it could become whatever number you want it too!

and if your 18 you should by him a few lottery tickets or cigarettes...NOT TO USE i hope but just to have because he's old enough to get them LOL

You cannot use the JCPenney gift card through Sephora's website.

Sephora is a separate company... So, they don't take the cards unless it was a "Sephora inside JCP" card...

You could ask the clerks inside the Sephora at JCPenney if they would special order for you and you could pay in store... but otherwise, you have to use the card in store.

That is kind of stupid, if you ask me, since they accept the JCPenney charge card on Sephora's website...

We don't have a Sephora anywhere close to where I live, but at Jcpenneys I saw a few items they had there. It was randomly on a small table and didn't have much quantity at all. They had perfume, eyelash curlers, Buxom mascara, etc... And there was no makeup counter. So my question is: Do you think I'd be able to get my free birthday gift there regardless? I've never heard of sephora products at jcpennys. I get my gifts at sephora and it's included with a purchase. I'm pretty sure you can just get it without a purchase t the counter, but Im about 80% sure you can only get the Gift at sephora.

You could buy from aussie retailers on ebay and pay via paypal. Alternatively you could buy something from Amazon in the states and send it over. Australia doesn't really have the big range of online retailers that you would find in the US. Australia and the US now have a free trade agreement but I'm not sure how that works for day to day stuff. Hope it helps.
