Gift ideas for my grandmas 80th birthday?

Katie

I really need ideas!

Answer
Picture of all the grandkids with an engraved frame?
Or maybe just a picture of you and your siblings and/or parents with an engraved frame.
My grandma LOVES engraved frames, so we've done that for her a few times... engrave with "happy 80th, 2009" or whatever. Or put together a collage of photos you may have of you together or even just of the grandkids. Grandma's love their grandbabies :)
good luck

Suitable birthday gift for an 80 year old Korean lady?

adamst.jam

She is my close friend's mother-in-law and I have been invited to her party. Also, what would be a good host gift - some good soju perhaps? Any customs I should be familiar with? The family has been in the U.S. for 30+ years but still follow many Korean customs. Thank you!

Answer
You have an interesting project, Adamst~!
Not knowing the lady, what she likes, whether she drinks or smokes, whether she's a devout Protestant Christian, whether she has a good set of teeth or likes to munch on stringy candies and cookies, this is a tough one. ^^

Nevertheless it would be safe to say that "soju" might just not cut it . Soju is a good wine, but there are way better stuff like paik-se-ju (literally 'live-to-be-a-centenary wine"). If she likes sweets, a box of dried persimons, appricots, or some nice, fresh ttok (the rice cake) might be good.

There are also many kinds of old-fashioned cookies (like senbei or jonbyoung) and godzillion kinds of ttok in all shape, taste, and color that some elderly people might crave for. Perhaps you might ask what she normally enjoys having, or would that be too obvious? Well, asking never hurts, so I've heard.

For the elderly, I have also heard that some quality beef might also be a great gift, for it replenishes their stamina (I'm not quite 80 myself, but meat helps even at my youthful age, he...)

Since you mention this lady is an in-law of you friend's, meat and wine are high on the gift list - it has been that way for at least several decades, so I would assume that is the tradition.

Yep, premium beef and paikseju would be my choice. Chunjong wine is also good; buy the most expensive chungjong - you can't go wrong with this either.

Avoid USDA beef if possible and get Australian-imported, as she or her family might be sensitive to beef safety - many Koreans talk about the vCJD in Korea, the cow madness, so if their relatives are concerned, they might be too.

If all this is getting too elaborate, get some nice flowers (barring that she has hay fever of course); I think she would also appreciate it especially for the thought.

Please don't forget to call her /Uh-muh-ni/ (literally "Mother") as that is the custom. "All friends of one's child and those of the spouse are my children at least when they are eating at my table~!" Now that is unless she prefers to treat you as an outsider or dislikes you. I'm sure that wouldn't be the case since you were invited. ^^

Happy guessing, shopping, and partying, yay~!

----

Edit: I think I should strike out my words about the sweets and the rice cake as they are way too casual.for a birthday party. Besides, the host family would have had most of these prepared anyway. I would rather recommend the beef and the jungjong/ or baikseju wine for the gift at her grand birthday party.

Need ideas for a 30th birthday gift.?

Scarlett

She's my husbands best friends wife.
Stuck up is too harsh of a word. She can be fun, but I will say she's very "PROPER".
She prefers the finer things in life. We are a family on a tight budget.
I don't know what kind of party this is going to be yet.
HELP!

Answer
OK, I would NEVER buy a gift to try and 'keep up with the Jones'. I like my gifts to either say something about me, OR that will be totally different to anything else the person will receive. Money does NOT talk (IMHO). If it was ME, I would appeal to the 'fun' side of this woman. Give her 30 X 30 'useless items' (Because people dread turning 30)......
30 X Spent Matches,
30 X Grains of sand
30 X Used lottery tickets
30 X Take away menus
......you get the idea. It wont cost much...but, by the time you FIND 30 examples of 30 useless things, and wrap them up in lovely wrapping...no one will be in any doubt as to how much THOUGHT and TIME has been put into it - and it will be NOTING like ANYTHING she will have been given before!
The last thing people with money appreciate is an expensive gft -if they WANTED 'that' they will have already bought it themselves! Appeal to the PERSON, rather than the bank balance!
Always works for me, anyway!

perfect yankee swap gift under 30$!?

Andrea

so, im going to a holiday party on the 22nd and its with all my girlfriends. we are all 20 and we are pretty classy girls. i was wondering what the best yankee swap gift under 30$ would be- something creative.
exclude clothes and gift certificates though.
thanks!

Answer
You could make a gift basket with a bunch of little things. Just pick a theme, like bath products (include yummy smelling shower gel, moisturizer, a little poof), or baking (include a cute little apron, a chef's hat, write out some of your favorite recipes or include a cookbook, maybe some measuring cups).

Boot Camp Graduation Gift?

Vet's Daug

What's a good gift to give a 19 year old guy (my godson-who looks like a baby to me) who's soon to graduate from Navy boot-camp? Please don't say a nice watch, he's getting that from his uncle.

Answer
A gift card from the NEX, aka the Navy Exchange. That way, he can get stuff for fun, like movies if he wants, but he'll also be able to use it on any Navy specific items that he needs, like uniform articles.

Good Christmas Gift, Ugg Whitley Lace-up Boots?

Terry P

Trying to figure out if the UGG Whitley Lace-up Boots in the off white would be a good Christmas gift. Is this a bad color and will it easily get dirty and ruin?

Answer
Great gift but yes the color will get dirty if you aren't careful. But Espresso and Black are optional too. But if you live in an area that's not plagued with mud and dirty snow I think you will be fine.
I personally like the off white color best ;-)
Good Luck!

gift ideas for parents?

anonymous

im trying to figure out what to get my parents for Christmas. They are next to impossible to buy separate gifts for, so I usually get them a together gift, usually something for the house. They're both in their mid 40's. This year I am completely stuck on what to buy them though. I'd like to spend around $75, and no more than $100. I'm a broke college student, so I can't be spending too much, haha. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! : )

1 year anniversary gift idea?

John

On july 9 me and my girlfriend will have been dating for a year. I want to give her the best day ever. I plan on spending the whole day with her then coming back to my house in the night. I want to do something for her that would make her happy and surprise her. (For example this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnVAE91E7kM except obviously i am not proposing, just that idea.) i am only 14 years old so i can't drive her anywhere so i need something that we could do within walking distance. i was thinking something to do with the beach because there is one very near my house. There could be a surprise waiting for her when we get there or something. (the beach is private so there wouldn't be any other people there.) hopefully you can come up with some ideas for me. (Im not looking for presents to get her, im looking for things to do for her.)

Answer
Alright, so. What you gotta do is make her an awesome card :). What i did for my one year anniversary was draw a horrible portrait of her, (using the one that napolean drew for trisha in napolean dynamite as my inspiration and model), and on the inside wrote 'i spent like 3 hours shading the upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done. <-- if you've seen napolean dynamite you'll understand that.

But also, walk down to the beach casually, and maybe have a picnic basket waiting in the bushes or something and 'accidentily' stumble upon it. "wow what could this be?! a picnic basket! :O lets open it :) and see whats inside" - act corny on purpose for extra cuteness xD. She'd like that so much. chocolate strawberries perhaps? and a nice cloth to sit on.

Thats my idea :D! i think its pretty good :).

Bridesmaid gifts for a Las Vegas wedding?

calina

So I'm getting married in Las Vegas next year and have no idea what to get my bridesmaids. I wanted to give them a goodie bag of Las Vegas themed "stuff" but more so, I wanted to give them gifts that they'll enjoy. Any ideas?

Answer
Do you know what hotel you are staying at? Maybe you could get some gift or game vouchers or a gift certificate for a massage at the hotel while they are visiting.
I think the best thing to do would be to think of things that each of them like - you don't have to get them all the same gift. Like if one of your friends is really into hair/makeup you could try to find a las vegas compact mirror, some kind of las vegas makeup case, etc.
You could get them all towels for hanging out by the pool, deck of cards to play with in the room, etc.
You can try going to amazon.com - search for Las Vegas and see what kinds of stuff you can come up with.

Las Vegas Gifts!?

cookiesss1

My dad is going to Las Vegas. He wants me to tell him what I want, but I have no idea what to get. Do you know anything authentic to Las Vegas that I should ask for?

Answer
A nice top or a hat. They sell just about anything with Las Vegas on it. They have some really nice tops or sweatshirts. A jacket is always nice. If you collect anything .. like bells or glasses or stuffed animals. How about something from the M&M Factory next to the MGM Grand. They have pretty neat things in there with the Vegas logo.

Visa Gift Card for Online Purchases?

William S

I know that some Visa gift cards need to be registered before they will work online, and I know you're supposed to contact the ''issuer'' to do that. Would a Visa Gift Card from a gas station have an ''issuer'' that I could register with?
Let me know If you've actually done it; bought a gift card from a gas station or walgreens and you registered it and used it online.

Answer
The gift card packaging should have directions on it. I just purchased a Visa gift card the other day and registered it at mygiftcardsite.com, as described on the back of the package, and have since purchased several movies from online without any problems.

My dad is turning 50!! Gift ideas!!?

*Rayne*

My daddy is turning 50 in a few weeks and I really need some gift ideas. I give him pictures all the time. We do the tshirt thing, the tool thing. He doesn't wear watches. He's a little rugged but getting older. I want to do something that is meaningful. Something he will appreciate. Something that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg, because money isn't an issue but this shouldn't be about money. I love my daddy and he has done so much for me. He is very stressed lately, I want this to mean a lot to him. I thought of finding his old yearbook from highschool but no luck. I'm literally stuck.

Christmas gift for girlfriend $50 or less?

GluteusMax

I'm looking for a unique gift for my girlfriend of over two years. We've set a $50(ish) price limit so try to keep it around there. I have a couple idea's but wouldn't mind some outside suggestions incase theres something better out there. Thanks!

Answer
I would give a gift of enlightenment. I rather love my friends and family all year long and I can give them gifts at anytime, but not at christmas for celebratory purpose. In short, I would give gifts but not in celebration of Christmas. To avoid misleading others or misinterpretation, I would rather not give at Christmas. I would give my friend a gift of enlightenment....by letting her know that Christmas is a big lie and it originated with paganic practices. I would let her know that sheeps wouldn't be out in the fields in the winter. ..That in the winter, if it rains, the rain gets soaked into the sheep's wool and actually gets frozen, potentially killing the sheep. Therefore,...that Christ couldn't have possible been born in December. I would get with her and look up the word 'Christmas' in encyclopaedia and read the origin of Christmas. Most encyclopaedias are online and; the Catholic encyclopaedia is a good one. So, I would reason with my friend that only Satan is the cause of perpetrating the big lie about Christmas. I would let her know that the word 'devil' means a vicious liar and where ever a lie is involved, the source is 'of the devil.' I would tell my friend.."Let's get out of the evil practices of the world and that we should be in the world but not of the world."

I need help for a 40th birthday party gift idea!?

a new day

Okay, so the idea is for everyone to bring 40 of something (and everyone is to dress in all black). I was thinking maybe 40 black balloons, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. And please, nothing too expensive :) 40 of something can easily end up being quite expensive. I want to spend $40 or less. Also, I don't really know much about this person except that he loves to bake. Thanks for your help!!

Answer
My Blister was born 30/6/63. I was born 25/6/62 so for 30 years we`ve been trying to out do each other with gifts. the worst she sent me was a cd of party songs like " Agadoo" but i`ve sent her a DVD about steam driven tractor engines, 5lbs of potatoes (which she was most gratefull for.Doh!)
A picture of me on a breakfast bowl, grinning insanely! But the best was when her then 8yr old son helped me unwrap a box of fferro rocha? and fill them carefully back up with small cooked brussell sprout`s coated in melted chocolate.!
sounds labour intensive but only took an hour or so.
Best bit was watching her bite into the 1st one. After that she gave them to unsuspecting visitors which were all caught on video! Best of all she still lubs me!

personalized anniversary gift?

Buddy Lee

I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and my 2 year wedding anniversary is coming up. I want to get her a Personalized anniversary gift, but can't find anyone who will do what I want. I want to get her a Teddy bear with the new multi-cam combat uniform with name tapes and rank insignia. Anyone know anybody that can accomplish this task for me? Thank You.

Answer
Have you tried calling 'Build A Bear'? They sent my sis a personalized teddy bear for her anniversary to my brother in law while he was in Afghanistan. Although to be honest I am not completely sure how my brother in law got it done. But they delivered it to her door and she slept with it every night until he came home. Speaking of which, come home safe. God Bless and hope you find what you are looking for.

Comp geeks help me get my man a gift?

sentfromhe

The guy I'm dating is having his 28th Bday this weekend. I want to get him some good little gifts. He is a computer tech and loves his sports cars (has 2). He is pretty much loaded and I am not, so I can't really impress him with an expensive gift. I plan to cook for him a great meal, put on a sexy dance and all that sweet stuff, but I wanted to get him a gadget gift. He is "on call" for work alot and carries his lap with him 24-7. He picks up wireless to log on if he is not home for his support job. I saw this keychain that detects hot spots, is this a good gift or lame? I am not a comp geek (to bad they rock) and thus need help on deciding if this is cool or not. Any other under 50$ gift ideas are welcome. Thanks so much! Geeks RULE!

Answer
Heh, I bet he already has a flash drive :-)

You could still buy him a 4 Gig flashdrive, go to www.portableapps.com and install the portable apps suite into the new pen drive... that would be a nice gift. Easy to install, do not worry. Just save the installation kit just in case...

I like how persuasive you can be :-) Sent From heaven :)
That is a nice gift actually, him lucky b..., guy... I would be happy only with the sexy dance...

The keychain would do :-)

Think of what he needs or try to persuade him into telling you what he would need... The best gifts are the ones you trully need.

Ask a friend of him to tell him that he bought X item for his laptop...what would he like to buy/get...maybe he tells his friend what would be a good gift :)

What are some good birthday gifts?

P

I'm bored and have nothing else to buy for myself, so im starting to buy my friends birthday gifts. What are some good gifts to give? Funny ones? Things below 100 please. I want them to be creative and cute. (btw, im in highschool if that helps) Thanks!

Answer
A good gift really depends on the person. But you don't need to spend much money on gifts--as long as it looks like you spent time on it any friend would appreciate it. Sorry if these are the cheesiest ideas you've ever heard, I am quite the cheeseball.

I know I personally don't enjoy getting gift cards; they don't seem as personal and I tend to lose them or forget about them.

If they're into fashion or cute accessories, get some supplies and unique beads or objects and make them a necklace, bracelet or earrings.
Or maybe a pair of socks or pajama pants with a funky pattern or funny sayings on them (when getting clothing, don't go for shoes, pants, or shirts--if they don't fit or they aren't your friends style they will just sit in her closet. PJs and socks are safer because they're casual.)

Also, try to avoid lotions, perfumes, makeups, or other beauty products. The friend could be nauseated by the smell, or even have an allergic reaction you're unaware of.

A decorated picture frame with a funny picture of you two in it would be nice to receive as well.

If you're just looking for a lighthearted something, get them a bag full of random little objects. Drug stores like Wal Greens, CVS, Walmart are good--you don't need anything fancy. Or in some stores like Claire's they have a 10 items for $5 bin in the back. Things like little nail polishes, keychains, bouncy balls, or any cool looking trinket that reminds you of an inside joke or memory with the friend.

Also, listen to them when they complain. If you remember that your friend's headphones just broke, they don't have anything good to read, or they're sick of the way their room is decorated, get something to meet their need.

what happens after a prepaid visa gift card runs out?

Kev

I wanna get my friend a prepaid Visa gift card so he can by games online... anyway, the question is: If the Visa card runs out, like say it has like $4 left and he buys a game that's like $5, does it act like a credit card and bill/charge him, or does it just not simply let him make the purchase.

*you can enable online purchasing by registering your name and address etc on the Visa website after gift card purchase

Answer
The card companies love these things, because it gives them four opportunities to make money, with almost no cost to the company (printing cards costs a few cents per card). The way the cards work, you pay an up-front "activation fee", typically $5-$7, then load the card with the amount of money you want. While the money is on the card, it's in the card company's account, earning interest for them. When you swipe the card, they charge a fee to the business you're buying stuff from. And 12 months after you last use the card, they start charging a "maintenance fee" that takes $2-$4 out of the remaining balance per month, until the card account is empty, then they cancel it.

The cards are ultimately a gimmick. Gift cards in general were originally marketed partially on the idea that you can give one to a junkie and reasonably expect them to shop at the store the card is for, since they'd need cash to buy drugs with it. But with iPhone mounted card readers and apps that process credit card payments available these days, that benefit is mostly gone. Most financial experts advise avoiding those pre-paid cards entirely, and just giving cash; You can give $5 more cash than giving the card, for the same cost, and almost every place takes cash.

As for whether you can use $4 on the card to buy a $5 game, it depends on how the transaction is run. If done as a straight charge, the card will decline and void the transaction due to insufficient funds. Almost all online transactions tend to be of this type. Some online transactions, and all stores that have a modern card reader (like a big department store, or a grocery store does, or Best Buy for example) can do partial transactions; You tell them how much is on the card, they charge the card for exactly that amount, then you pay the difference in cash or with another card.

Most pre-paid debit cards can be reloaded as well; A fixed-value card (such as the ones that say $25 or $50 on the front) might have to be fully loaded with the full amount, but the variable cards, the ones where you can put in whatever you want when pre-paying them, can usually be reloaded with any amount you like. In the case of an online transaction that declined due to insufficient funds, you can find out exactly what the card balance is, exactly what the online total will be, and reload the difference.

I recently had the same problem myself, a $25 pre-paid MasterCard, with $3.03 left on it. I used it to pay for part of my weekly groceries. I just had to tell the grocery store cashier there was only $3.03 on the card, and to only charge the card for that much.

16th birthday gifts for someone fussy?

cheska

It's my boyfriends 16th birthday in just over a month and I don't know what to buy. He got me an engraved bracelet worth £50 for my 16th so I want to make sure that his is special as well.
I'm thinking about getting 16 mini funny gifts for him that are just cheap and then one special gift but I can't decide what the one special gift should be. I would like to get him a bracelet but I don't know whether he'd wear it and I don't want to get the same as he got me.
His two favourite things are YuGiOh and Sonic The Hedgehog so if you could think of a special gift that's good to get someone you love and/or includes the things he likes then you will get 10 points.
Please help.
Also, don't say a b***job because that's not special seen as he gets them often enough, and will probably be getting one anyway.

Answer
Turning 16 is a definite milestone birthday that most teenage boys dream about for a long time. Sure they would all like a car, but in reality what they're looking for is a gift that says they are becoming adults. Sweet 16 gifts for a boy should be a bit more elaborate than what you would normally purchase and can also give them a taste of independence.

Driver's Training
Every 16-year-old boy dreams of getting a car for his birthday. But if a car is not in your budget, you can still keep his driving dream alive by purchasing driving lessons. Most driver's education centers are able to build a package for you, depending on how much you want to spend. Packages usually include a combination of classroom instruction and in-car training. This will give him the skills and confidence he needs behind the wheel to be a responsible driver, a truly priceless gift.

Electronics
Most boys are thrilled to get electronics for their birthdays. For their 16th birthday however, consider staying away from the video games and get them a more mature electronic. Ideas are a digital camera to capture their experiences, a laptop that can help with homework, or a cellphone that keeps them in touch with family as they start to gain more independence. The choices can be overwhelming, so if you're unsure about what to get, a gift certificate for a local electronic store will be appreciated just as much.

Tickets
Most boys have a favorite sports team or band, and getting tickets to see them live is something they will remember for a long time. Purchase two tickets so they can pick a best friend to share the experience with. If you want to get something beyond the tickets, consider getting their favorite player's jersey that they can wear to the game, or for an extra fee some arenas will even make a birthday announcement. If your 16-year-old is not a sports fan, a band T-shirt is a great alternative.

Birthday Gift.............?

Cosmicgirl

So I went in the coat closet because I was looking for a craft box because I wanted to make some earrings and stuff. Anyways I found a bag with a really pretty dress and an overcoat that my mom really liked for me a couple of weeks ago in a store. My birthday is in a few days so I can only guess that it's for it. But for my birthday I wanted something else, and it was pretty important to me. Plus I don't want my mom to spend so much money on a thing that I'll wear once, and that's not my style anyways. It's always been like this on my birthday, my dad for example bought me an expensive tennis rocket even though I hate tennis, but he loves it. It has always been expensive, never personal, but I don't want to be mad, but should I tell my amazing mom that she shoud return it, I don't want to be sad...?

making gifts for christmas?

psycholuv3

im running low on money this christmas so i was wondering what kind of things can i make, or what are some cheap gift items?

Answer
It's perfectly FINE to give a handmade Christmas gift!

Some things you can make (pretty inexpensively):

Scented candles

Hand-decorated Christmas ornaments

Baked goods (cookies, nut-bread, chocolate-peppermint rolls, etc.) that you can prepare ahead of time in quantity, and wrap and give individually

Small themed gift-baskets (for example, sample sizes of flavored coffee or tea, along with a nice mug, in a basket with some shredded-paper filler ... you can buy all these items at dollar stores or discount stores)

Other gift baskets, depending on the recipients likes/interests, could include a crossword-puzzle magazine and a few new pencils, or a few small kitchen gadgets/utensils and a package of recipe cards, some craft- or art-supplies.

Fruit baskets are easy (and cheap!) to put together yourself. Buy a bag of apples, a bag of oranges, any other fruit that's inexpensive ... some baskets (thrift-stores such as Goodwill often sell baskets for 25 or 50 cents!) and make your own!

Other ideas:

Cheap picture frames (again, dollar store) that you embellish/personalize ... you can use paint, glitter, buttons, decoupage ... the possibilities are endless.

Small photo albums ... include a few pictures of yourself and the friend to whom you're giving the album, leaving the rest of the pages blank ... again, you can embellish the album as mentioned above.

If you like to embroider or do cross-stitch, you can buy plain kitchen towels, potholders, etc., and personalize them that way.

If you knit, crochet, or sew ... scarves, hats, or household items are easy to make/personalize.

Just use your imagination. And don't feel like it's cheap to give a handmade gift, it isn't ... personally, I LOVE receiving a gift that someone put him/herself into!

My birthday gift--$100 gift card from target?

my Q's

My husband gave me a $100 gift card from target as my birthday gift this month. Any suggestions on what I can buy..? I usually dont spend that much.. but he wants to make sure, I buy something for myself and not for the family.. as always!!!
I would like to add that; the purpose of my husband choosing a gift card was we have had acouple of instances before where he bought a few things( very exp gifts) and I did'nt really like it as much...!! So the gift card was a safe way to handle the ocassion and leave the final gift to my choice..!!

Answer
I used to think that gift cards were impersonal and would be offended by receiving them. But then I got one as a gift and realized that the persons intentions was so that I would be able to get the things that I wanted, on top of being able to go shopping and have a day for myself. The possibilites are endless and shopping for yourself when it is something that you rarely do for one reason or another is wonderful. Have fun, look around, and once you see it you will know.

If I was gifted £100,000, would I need to pay both capital gains tax as well as income tax?

I am having a hard time understanding capital gains tax. If was given £100,000 would I have to pay both income tax as well as capital gains tax?
Like it is above £10,000 so I have to pay capital gains tax but it is also above £5000 so I would have to pay income tax? It is above £40,000 so I would have to pay higher range? I mean how much would I get?

Answer
A gift of £100,000 in cash is not subject to any tax - you will get £100,000. Capital gains tax is only charged on the growth in value of an asset (not cash) from the time you get it until the time you sell it or give it away. It is an alternative to income tax - nothing is subject to both taxes.

The only time you might not get the full £100,000 is if the gift comes under a deceased person's Will, when there might be inheritance tax to be paid out of it. That depends on the terms of the Will and the total value of the deceased person's assets.

Gifted 6 Year Old?

Elizabeth

My 6 year old son has a memory like a trap, can label all 50 states on a map, and can do 100+ piece puzzles, understands the concept of negative and positive numbers in basic math, can pick out tunes on the piano, and even harmonize to songs without being taught how (he's had very little musical instruction so far.) Is this normal for a 6 year old, or is there a chance he may be gifted?

Answer
More than likely he's gifted. But there's a big difference between bright and gifted. He will ask you questions on and on. He will be amazed at things that normal 6 year olds could care less about. Don't be suprised if he launces a 'Save All African Children' campaign against you. He will get bored to tears in a regular classroom and most schools don't have GOOD programs for gifted children. The schools I attend have Gifted/Talented. It does nothing except make more things for the secretaries to file. He, as hard as it is to believe, may actually not bring home good grades all the time (though this is fairly uncommon in gifted children). You may find that he's very uncoordinated because gifted childrens' minds focus on things other than running in PE. His mind is still the size of his two fists. The only real difference in his mind is it's 'sponge-ness.' He may, however, be just as good in athletic programs as all the other 'average' kids. It's kind of hard to predict about your child because, well, this is the internet and none of us know your kid. Remember, not all things meet the eye. Einstein's teachers thought that he was a retard (litterally, mentally retarded). He sounds fantastic. Good luck in not wanting to duct tape his mouth one day.

How do i gift cars to my friends on Forza 4?

Steven

I can't figure out how to give my friends cars on forza 4.

Answer
To gift cars you have to be an Xbox Gold member with an active subscription; you use the Xbox LIVE menu in the game to do the gifting and you can only gift to people on your Friend List. Be aware though that you can NOT gift any cars that were (A) received as rewards from Turn 10 for playing Forza 3, (B) earned as reward cars for racing, or (C) purchased with in-game DLC tokens. Other than that though you can gift away!

But here is a link to a thread on this subject...

Is a abercrombie gift card and regular card a good 13th birthday present?

Nicole

My friend I just met this year is having her 13th birthday party. I was thinking about getting her an abercrombie gift card since that's her favorite store and a regular happy birthday card. Do you think that's enough? How much should I put on the gift card? Thanks so much for your help! 10 points for the best and detailed answer!

Answer
Yes, that's perfect! Especially since that's her favorite store! I think you should put 20 dollars on it. But it depends on how much you want to spend. If you get a $20 abercrombie gift card and a "Happy Birthday" card, you would probably end up spending around $23 and some change. It just depends. I always go by thinking, "How much would THEY spend on me for my birthday?" I don't think it wold be good if you spent alot of money on her birthday then when its your birthday she spends $10. So think about that.

7th Anniversary Gift?

Hawk

Help! I need an anniversary gift for my wife of 7 years. We're coming off having a baby, and things are great. I'm not looking to break the bank. Any input would be great!!!

Answer
7th Anniversary Traditional Gift:
Copper or Wool.

7th Anniversary Contemporary/Modern Gift:
Desk Sets.

I purchased this beautiful copper statue (stands about 12" tall about $60 or so) of a man and woman under his coat in the rain, kissing...my husband really loved it - it's a great statue and a wonderful reflection of the two of us. We have it on one of the prominent shelves in our family room. We always use the anniversary gift (modern or traditional) list when we go shopping - it makes for a fun "scavenger" hunt for anniversary gifts. We've had some very creative anniversaries that way.

Online Gift shop/deliver to Bristol, UK?

Gabriella

Any really good gift shop where I can find graduation gifts?
delivery to Bristol UK
Thanks!

Answer
Hi, there are lots of great gift shops that offer Graduation gifts and most shops that sell online will deliver to Bristol.

When you are buying your gift, simply put in the postal address for Bristol at checkout and then your item will be delivered to the address specified.

I hope this helps and you find the gift of your choice.

Here is a good website that offers a wide range of gifts.

Where can I buy gifts to be delivered to a friend in the UK, while I live in America?

I am looking to purchase a gift for a friend in the UK, that can be delivered to his house. Most of the sites I find in the UK, do not allow people from the US to pay via CC or paypal ( usually not a USA option in the payment/billing address section), any ideas? I specifically like to buy him some various spices that we have here in the US but if all else fails, any option is appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
I frequently buy stuff on-line for my family back in the UK using my Aussie Credit Card and Aussie address. I agree paypal is a lot less commonly used in the UK, but credit cards are usually international.

Can't ever remember seeing a site that didn't allow an overseas address for payment and I've never had a problem at all. I even looked at a random spice site (no recomendation, just testing) and they allow you to enter an overseas address for invoicing (payment)

http://www.spice-master.com/customer_details.php

Have I mis-undertood your question ?

Apologies if so, perhaps a bit of extra detail ?
