Can discount vouchers be bought right from the store?

Will

I want to give a discount voucher as a gift to a friend, so he can buy an iPod, so can I simply go into one of Virgin Megastore's shops, go to the counter and ask to buy a discount voucher??

Answer
Gift Voucher, Gift Certificate, Gift Token, Gift Card - those are all the terms you need for your needs. Try not to confuse this with Discount Vouchers as they are related to Coupon Codes and are entered during the checkout process.

If I was buying an iPod, I would be looking directly to buying from the Apple Store at http://store.apple.com. However, if your friend is already set on buying from Virgin Megastore that's okay too especially if it's local to them (saves on Gas).

Currently, at the online Apple Store, they have free delivery on Apple Gift Cards, and iPods, as well as free laser engraving on new models. The prices are low as well.

I run a UK discount code site, so am always on the lookout for where to buy things cheaply. The Apple online store (US and International) is a great resource, and online store, for everything to do with Apple products...

gift cards first dates?

jesus Z

i was just wondering if its ok to use gift cards and coupons on first dates? i usually dont but recently a really close friend asked me

Answer
Never ever use coupons, you'll just look cheap.

A gift card may be ok, just make sure its not too odvious that it's a gift card. Some look just like credit cards and you can get away with using without your date catching on.

birthday date gift?

SarahAnne

I've met this guy two weeks ago and i'm taking him out for a birthday date to celebrate his twentieth. i'm trying to keep things slow, but we made out tonight. based on all that, what should i get this christian, insightful guy for his birthday? any ideas?

Answer
- A watch is always a classic gift, especially if practical, durable and somewhat classy like a Casio watch
- If he's a deeply religious person, the gift of a rosary is an option because the most precious religious gifts are not bought but recieved with one's blessings
- Book vouchers are great for the insightful who love reading and furthering their knowledge
- Something homemade is always the most personal gift one can give because it's unique, irreplaceable and meaningful

I'm sure there are more ideas such as the eccentric gift idea of an assortment of socks, but for now, this is all my brain can come up with.

Orange to Tesco Mobile?

Aspire

I am currently on Orange pay-as-you-go, getting unlimited texts and a certain amount of web browsing for 30 pounds. I am considering going on contract as it will be cheaper.
I saw a great deal on Tesco Mobile that suits my mobile-ing needs (I know Tesco is deemed a poor, but I don't really mind), however my mobile is on Orange and isn't unlocked. I don't want to sell it, as it was a gift from my mother, but would like to know if it is possible to unlock the phone, use the Tesco mobile sim card and still be able to use my apps and browse the web?

Any information that could help please let me know, thank you :)

Answer
Unlock phone - Yes
Use Tesco SIM after unlock - Yes
Use apps - apps may be exclusive to Orange and not available via Tesco
Browsing web - you need a web-capable phone

There are some chain stores that issue gift cards, such as Rossmann (drugstore), IKEA, TESCO, empik (bookstore), H&M (clothing), Sephora, Douglas (cosmetics). Most of them have shops in WrocÅaw. 13 YEAR OLD GIFT'S! any ideas?

fencerluve

any gifts for a 13 year old's birthday?? websites appreciated! thanks! =]

Answer
People usually buy gifts based on their preference and likes.... when buying gifts for other people, it is best to know first what the other person's likes and preferences are. If you also limit yourself to the age of the prospect recipient, that might not be the best way to go about it because again different strokes for different folks.... I suggest that you first do a little "knowing your enemy" research and when you found out a little more details on them, that is when you start your gift searching.... i.e. if the person likes to read, then start at the bookstore, if the person likes music, then go to the record bars, and things like that.....
Please consider this a last resort, but if all else fails, you might want to ask the recipient what they want to get... sure it takes away the element of surprise but you never know, there might just be something they really like and it would just be wonderful if you got it for them....

How much is the acceptable price range of wedding gifts in Canada?

RO

Answer
I generally give a gift worth between $35 and $75 (normally about $50). The most expensive gift I bought was a bbq, but that was for a very good friend and it was a one-time thing. I would think that unless you're a very close friend or family, I would buy a gift worth around $35-$50.

does anyone know where i can buy sobriety gifts wholesale online?

Veronica S

I am starting a sobriety gift store.

Answer
What exactly is a sobriety gift? I know you can find lots of gift items on Chinese wholesale sites for good prices, but I don't think they would categorize things specifically as "sobriety gifts" so you might have to hunt around. You could try Dhgate.com or aliexpress.com, both are good sites.

Where is the best place to buy wholesale items for a gift shop?

joseph

Answer
Gift shops are an important segment of our business. We wholesale fashion jewelry and accessories as well as Mardi Gras items and masks. These items may or may not fit in to your business plan.

Many gift shops attend gift markets where wholesalers present their line to retailers. Regional shows may be near you and national shows will be in major cities. Many others are trying to save travel expense by finding wholesale sources online. FGMarket is a directory of wholesalers, but there are many others like it.

College graduation gift?

Insert nic

My older sister is graduating from college...and I'm not sure what I should get her! I don't know what people usually give for college graduation gifts...is it just like a birthday gift/christmas gift?

Answer
Found this, Should be helpful:

Gifts according to your sign:
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Active Aries is always looking for ways to stay in shape, particularly during the holiday season... so athletic equipment is usually a good choice. People born under this sign are also fond of the color red, so a cranberry scarf or a scarlet hat could win their favor. If romance is in the air, let Aries know that you put his or her needs first. Buy tickets for two to a sporting event you loathe... or a CD by an artist you can't stand... to win big points with your favorite Ram.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates any gift that appeals to his or her sensual side. A box of gourmet chocolates, a richly colored tapestry or a soft cashmere blanket are all great options for Bulls. This sign also enjoys having money to play with, so a gift certificate to their favorite store is a welcome option. Always remember that quality is more important than quantity â Taurus would rather have a small bottle of expensive cologne than a carafe of the cheap stuff.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Quick-witted Geminis enjoys gifts that appeal to their sizable intellects. A challenging book is always welcome, as is a magazine subscription. This sign rules the hands, so some scented hand lotion or a sparkling ring might delight. Geminis also love to entertain, so a set of glassware might fit the bill. If you want to splurge on a special Twin, give them the latest cell phone or PDA, so they can keep in touch with their gazillion friends.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sentimental Cancer loves gifts that have personal meaning. Handmade items always delight, whether it's a finger painting, angora sweater or mincemeat pie. This sign also has a special affinity for silver â a monogrammed hand mirror or picture frame would be very well received. Since Crabs have an affinity for liquids of all kinds, a special bottle of wine, a fancy cappuccino maker or a shiny tea kettle are also good possibilities. And don't forget that these Moon children love the domestic arts â a cookbook specializing in comfort food is another sure winner.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Lions love gifts that make them look and feel terrific. Hair accessories, cosmetics and grooming items are all good choices for this image-conscious sign. Leos love drama, and enjoy presents that involve a bit of flair. Opera tickets, gold jewelry or animal print lingerie are right up this cat's alley. Leos also love to gamble, so a sheaf of lottery tickets or a weekend getaway to the casino could make them purr with delight. When shopping for clothing, remember that Lions have a special affinity for red, gold and purple.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgins love practical gifts...so avoid dust-catching baubles. A bread-making machine or a power drill would be equally welcome. These folks are also known to pride themselves on their impeccable appearance. Scented soaps, lotions and shampoos made by an earth-friendly company might be just the ticket. Virgos are also incredibly organized and might appreciate a good watch or a leather-bound date book. Or try a health-conscious basket of organic foodstuffs.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Librans have a special affinity for music, and always appreciate a good CD to add to their voluminous collection. If you want to do something really special for a Libran friend, splurge on a two concert tickets â this sign hates to do anything alone. Born beneath the sign of the scales, they also need plenty of balance in their lives, so a pair of candlesticks or bookends might appeal. If you're still stumped for ideas, have a lavish bouquet of red roses delivered accompanied by a loving handwritten note.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpions are secretive by nature and enjoy gifts that obscure their appearance in some way. A pair of designer sunglasses, a filmy scarf or a slouchy hat are all great choices for this sign. These mystery-lovers also enjoy moody, atmospheric stories. A collection of film noirs on DVD are sure to go over well with your favorite Scorpion. The rumors concerning this sign's sexual appetite are happily true, so seductive lingerie would get plenty of use. Since Scorpions also like to get beneath the surface; a gift certificate for a deep-cleansing facial will be appreciated.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
As far as Archers are concerned, half the fun of getting gifts is ripping them open! If Sag doesn't like a present, though, he or she will tell you outright. Avoid awkward scenes this holiday season by giving this outdoor enthusiast some camping equipment. Hiking boots or a water-proof parka would also be appropriate. These animal lovers adore any gift associated with their pets. A calendar filled with pictures of dogs or horses is sure to elicit a big smile. Finally, you can always feed this sign's wanderlust with a comprehensive atlas.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career-oriented Capricorn always enjoys gifts that will boost their job status. A leather laptop carrier or monogrammed briefcase would be welcome. Contrary to popular belief, though, Goats aren't all work and no play. This sign is blessed with a wicked sense of humor, so try the BBC's "The Office" series on DVD. Capricorns also love luxurious presents they'd never buy for themselves, like a silk bathrobe.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
You never know what this unpredictable sign will be doing from moment to moment â one week it's skydiving and the next it's yoga! Still, this quirky sign always appreciates technological gadgets, whether it's an all-region DVD player or an iPod Nano. If you'd like to choose something a little more personal, why not make a photo album detailing all of your exploits with the Water-Bearer? Aquarius may not show it, but they harbor a special fondness for their friends. Still stumped for ideas? A basket filled with brand new socks is both weird and practical enough for this sign, which rules the ankles.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
These mystics love gifts of all kinds, but especially ones that help them escape the harsh realities of life. A bottle of champagne, a kaleidoscope or a book of fairy tales will appeal to your Fishy friends. And because Pisces is a Water sign, it's a good bet they'll appreciate bath salts, foaming cleansers and shower gels. If you'd like to give something really special, a digital camera will make a bit hit with this natural-born photographer. Looking for a romantic gift? Choose a gilt-edged volume of love poetry.

Cheers!

College Graduation Gift?

Jill

Okay, so I'm 16 and my 21 year old sister is going to graduate from her first four years of college in May. I don't know what to get her? For her high school graduation I made her like a scrap book with a bunch of pictures and fun stuff, so I didn't want to repeat that gift. I don't know, maybe if anyone has any cool ideas for me you could share them. Thanks a lot!

*~Jill~*

Answer
College graduation is always an exciting time. For my college graduation a few years ago, one of my most memorable gifts was a beautiful afghan. Now you can get a personalized afghan by sending one of your favorite photos to be printed on the fabric. My friend gave me one of these for Christmas, itâs a very personal and keepsake item. So maybe you could find a favorite photo of you and your sister, or the entire family to be placed on an afghan.

If your sister travels a lot or plans on taking a vacation after graduation, a travel gift card from American Airlines, Avis Car Rental, her favorite hotel chain or restaurant would make a practical gift she could use. As a frequent traveler myself, I found a list of travel gift cards I use at: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_for_travel_and_fun.htm
You could fix up a graduation gift card basket with family vacation postcards, sport or concert ticket stubs you both attended and photos as a token of the memories you two shared together.

If your sister loves shopping, then maybe a gift card from Saks Fifth Avenue, T.J. Maxx, Gap, L.L. Bean or Macys to name a few from a list of the most popular shopping gift cards here: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_shopping.htm would be a nice gift. Or a gift card from her favorite hair salon or spa? You could spend the day shopping together as a âgirlâs day out.â

I think the best present you could give her is to attend her graduation and show her your love and support. I am sure whatever you decide to give her as a gift will be truly appreciated!

Yes depending on which shipping service you use.
US Post Office bulk shipping prices are competitive with UPS or FedX.
I wouldn't insure it. The heavier and bigger it is, the more it's going to cost.

What are some good Christmas gifts for guys under $100?

*Warwick*D

My gf keeps asking me what I want, and I cannot decide!

Answer
Do you like a certain cologne? Do you like to lounge around the house? Do you like a certain cookie, candy, or munchie? Do you like a certain music artist, or movie? What about a certain store that you like? What about a video game? Do you have a hobby you enjoy doing?

She can buy lots of stuff that is under $100, and throw it all together in a gift basket. I know Wal-Mart has a lot of great stuff on sale right now, and they also have gift sets. My guess is as good as yours as to what you'd like, and I just hope asking these questions helped to figure out what you'd like. Also, have a Merry Christmas :)

Is the world going to end in 2012?

Alexa

Okay, so, everyone is saying that on December 21, 2012 the world is going to end..
They say because the Myan Calendar ends on that day, and for many more reasons.
The movie got me really scared (2012), in the movie the first thing that flooded was New York, and New York recently flooded. So I have been worried and crying.. I don't want to die. Please tell me the truth. :(

Answer
On Dec 21st, the Mayan calendar ends. And a new one begins. The Mayans fully expected that the world would continue with the next calendar. Just as we do with our calendar.
OUR calendar ends on Dec 31st. And a new one begins.

The only difference is that the Mayan calendar is a LOT longer than ours.
You still have to go guy a Xmas gift for your mom so she has something from you on Xmas day.

The movie was the idea of the imagination of a Hollywood script writer. How boring would the film of been if Dec 21st came ... and nothing happened?
No there are NO more reasons for the end of the world ... ONLY a movie script that sold. Nothing more.

Any ideas for friendship gifts?

infamous_e

A small group of 4 (including myself) are best friends and have been since we were in Kindergarten, and actually we are more like sisters. Now at 35ish we get together once a year to celebrate our friendship. I would like to get gifts for all four of us that are the same, but represent our friendship (a ring, neclace or bracelet?) Something subtle, yet classy, that isn't showy, but possibly something that only means something to the four of us. I have found jewelry that is usually for two people, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
It depends on how much you actually want to spend on them. You could by them something as a whole that you could all do together, like go on a trip or by tickets to you favorite singer or band. Or you could get something for each one of them. Try going to www.gifts.com It is a great website that asked you questions about the person you are getting the gift for and asks questions about their personality until it comes up with the perfect gifts. i am sure you will find something on there to get for them. Good Luck!

Giving a gift vs. losing a friendship?

tuneitout3

Here's the deal :

I have a friend name Gage, and we went out for about a week, but I chose to end it, because we would be better off as friends. He took the break up extremely badly-and said some hurtful, and uncalled for things. We were friends before this for about a year-and I never knew he could be that cruel-esspecially since I was trying to be mutual and gentle about it-but he proceeded to send nasty texts, and deleted me from things like myspace and facebook.

Anyway, his birthday is on Saturday. I JUST went out to get his gift-even though he has been disrespectful. I would just really like it if we were to become friends-or even civil with eachother again. I got him simple choclates, and one of those little charecters that light up when you play music. Along with the card-I'm going to write in how I want this to be a peace offering, and my apologies.

Should I give the gift to him tomorrow at school? I would very much like to be friends agian-we sit next to eachother in half of our classes too. But I'm afraid he'll reject the gift or i wouldn't be a good idea.

So PLEASE tell me your thoughts!

Answer
I think you should give him the gift, and write him a little card or something. My close friend sent nasty, and uncalled for texts after I cancelled on him for someone else. I apologized to him after because I guess it was kinda rude of me to do that. Now we're closer than ever.

If he rejects the gift then he obviously doesn't want to be friends. You tried though, and you were the mature one in the situation. That's really all you can do.

What x'mas gift can I get my boyfriend in the UK?

Dinu C

I'm a little low on cash, and wondering what to send him. He likes chocolates, bikes (doesn't have one yet :)), buys all his own groceries and stuff and is a student.

Any place i can get christmas food stamps? I think that'll be useful to him

Answer
I don't think supermarkets like Tesco and Asda do vouchers. You could always buy him a few of his essentials like chocolates, tea, coffee, nice crisps, biscuits then put it in a cheap Christmas bag so he won't have so much to buy when grocery shopping.

Men, what's the meanest thing you've said to your girlfriend?Mature men only please, I want a serious answer.

Ari's Mom

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 years and have been an official couple for 1 year. Today I was talking to him about a trip to New York I wanted to go on next year. I just got back from Florida a few days ago, I took my daughter and I to Disney and Seaworld and paid for it on my own from my tax return. I have NEVER asked for any money or any gifts EVER. We do exchange gifts on birthdays and christmas and such though. Today he said to me, "I feel sorry for whoever your husband is going to be." He basically said this because I like to do things like Great America, going out to eat and such.

My question is, have you ever said anything this mean to your girlfriend before and should I make a big deal about him saying this comment or just brush it off?

Answer
I told her that I like the female singer in Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur more than her and that was true

You can go and see her one night she's really a hottie and extremely beautiful

Proper dollar amount for high school graduation gift?

Brandy C

We just received a graduation announcement for my husbands niece that lives 950 miles away. We only hear from them around Christmas time. We already have plans for that weekend so there is no possible way to attend. What is the proper dollar amount that we should spend, or send her, as a gift?

Answer
I would say $25-$30 is a proper amount. I just graduated myself, and I personally would be grateful for that amount if I recieved a gift or money especially since you only hear from them about once a year so it sounds like you're not super close.

What's a good high school graduation gift for a guy?

Dip some foods like pretzels and i make cookies she likes, dip the cookies in chocolate. With that I would give her some flowers and a card. Is this a nice idea for her??? Boyfriends and Gift-Giving?

Qu'est ce

So, my boyfriend and I have been going out for 7 months. Although our relationship is short, we have already decided we want to marry in a few years. The only problem is that my boyfriend isn't very great in the gift-giving department. So far, he tells me he only allocates $3 a month for me to buy me a rose. Other than that, he gives me cheap gifts that are usually less than $10. The problem is that he told me when we were friends that he would get his ex expensive coats and boots and spend $200+ on items which she eventually threw in the trash because "she didn't like them." He was practically engaged to her as well and they dated for a year. I feel jealous, of course, and I question whether he wants to truly commit to me. Any advice?

Answer
His guarded approach is rational. In the past as you mentioned he gave expensive gifts to a gal that just threw them away. So, He's learned that it was a waste in money. Now, he's being money smart by only giving you $3.00 roses and other low value gifts. It's possible that He's decided to have a wait and see approach with money. As his girlfriend he'll give you low value gifts and save his money. Later when you are married (as he's promised) he'll have more money to give you the fur coats as his wife. As his wife and the mother of his children, he'll also have the money saved from not giving you the expensive gifts now. Later in life, you'll appreciate his thriftyness. When you are out of work, living on one income and tending to a new born, his cheap skate actions now will have saved money in amounts that you will not have to worry about bills and tending to a new born. He's commited to marry you. this is a commitment on his part. The money and gift giving are his to do as he sees fit. It's not your money. And, while you might be jealous of the other girl, the fact that he is with you sharing his time and feelings speaks volumes. ask him about his family plans, and if he'll change his gift giving habits later when you are his wife... good luck.

Gift for girlfriend who is traveling?

My girlfriend is leaving for a week long vacation this Saturday and I would like to get her a small just because gift for her before she leaves, maybe something that would be nice for her to have to take on her trip. Travel gift ideas?

FLmom3

My husband is traveling overseas next week and I would like to get him several items for him to take on the plane to keep him from getting bored, as well as some other travel items. What are some good things to get him?

Answer
For boredom: sodoku, crosswords, a book or magazine of his interest, couple of new movies to watch in his laptop/portable DVD player, music,

Travel items: travel pillow/blanket (the ones on the plane can be nasty), eye mask, power adapter for country he is going to, unique luggage tags, small photo of you in a nice frame for his bedside (I always take a small picture of my dog with me).

My husband always likes it if I slip a little surprise into his bag like a card, CD, DVD or other little gift for him to find when he unpacks.

Post baby shower gift ideas.... Pampering in mind;?

G

It is my sister is laws baby shower - I need gift ideas of what to get her - The theme is Post baby gifts with pampering in mind - No gifts for the baby as she already has everything she needs. Her and I are very close so I would like to give her something nice - any ideas? of course aside of the spa and facial certificate.. What would a new mom (of two) enjoy more? thanx....

Answer
Include a booklet of babysitting vouchers, so she can go on a shopping spree or use that free time for whatever she wants (even sleeping) - she'll love that since every new mom needs some time to herself - speaking of experience...
Get a free template for a babysitting voucher here: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/free-baby-gifts.html

Apart from that make her a gift basket with lots of mom stuff (lotions, bath essence, dosy , postpartum stuff, also chocolates if she likes them - and who doesn't?, etc.)

how to use pampers gifts to grow points?

KKMOM

I have 87 gifts to grow points with pamper's and it says I have enough to get a pack of diapers, but when I try to get them online it only gives me the option to pay for them. This is the first time I use this and I don't know how to actually use my points. Do I have to go get the in-store? Does anyone know what to do?? Please help! Thanks!

Answer
On the Canadian Pampers site, the Gifts to Grow rewards do not give an option to redeem for packs of diapers. There are a few "rewards" worth 10 & 20 points each, but they are only good for entries into sweepstakes to win diapers and wipes, and and ALEX creative sweepstakes, and donations to charities. After the 20 points, the next thing you can redeem for is a 400 point 11X14 photo collage from Shutterfly. Are you sure the 87 points will give you a pack of diapers and not a chance to WIN diapers for a year?

Ladies, Christmas gift ideas?

RivatricHi

Please read the whole question before posting an answer.

Ok. There's this girl at work (she works at a different section than I do, so the "don't sh1t where you eat" does not apply). She has a boyfriend, which is all I know about that. I was introduced to her through a mutual friend (actually, I introduced myself) who has left our company. However, this girl still talks to me, laughs at my jokes (but my jokes ARE funny, I swear!), and we at the very least say hi when we see each other.

Still, we're not even in the "friends" category, we're just "acquaintances" (and I'd like to keep it at that unless I move up to boyfriend). So I need to buy her Christmas gift carefully. Something that spells "I'm sort of your friend but want more from you, and I don't really care for the fact that you have a boyfriend".

Serious answers only, please >.<

Answer
Ok, here's the perfect gift to get a girl in your situation. Something personal to her! For instance, if she loves to read, get her a gift card to Barnes and Noble or if she loves to shop and is girly girl get her a gift card to Bath and Body Works. The point here is to show that you notice her enough to care about what she likes (we love this) but it gives her the freedom to fill in the details with a great gift from her favorite store that she can pick out because YOU made that possible. She'll put that gift card in her wallet and thus be thinking about you until she uses it.

Put the gift card inside a card that is funny (a must) but also personal to her interests while at the same time conveying a sweetness on your part. You can take care of this in your signature. Instead of just scrawling your name, sign off with something that includes "I" and "You" or better yet, WE. Say, I hope you have a great Christmas or We work so hard it's time to get a little gift for yourself!

So, in summary, if you're still at the acquaintence level you don't know eachother well enough to get a tangible gift. Give something personal that establishes credibility for yourself. She'll love you for it and even if she stays with her boyfriend for a little while longer, when things start to go under the first person that will come to her mind will be you and your thoughtful gift. Good luck!

POSTING Gift to a friend - good idea?

Sweety89

Hey guys, i may not be able to go to my friend's bday party but is it a good idea to post her the gift in the post office and apologise.....she's a good friend not best friends but we get along together and i like her! Will she like the gift being posted to her on the same day of her party but will be sent during the day? Plz be honest! Posting it to her house!

Answer
I highly doubt she would mind. I'm sure she'd be happy that you even got her a gift! If you just apologize and explain why you couldn't make it, doubt that she would mind getting a gift in the mail. I mean who doesn't like getting mail?! (Parents who pay the bills but oh well) (: hope it turns out well!

How to deliver secret santa gifts?

NIXUN

Ok, so in my class in high school, we do this secret santa thing, and we have to deliver one present a day to a person. SO Friday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday I have to get this person a gift. I know their interests (fav. animal, movie, candy, etc), but I wanted to deliver these gifts in a creative fun way. Any ideas? (these gifts are cheap, $1-5)

Answer
day1- put gift in their seat, so that way they can find it.
day 2- do you know the locker combo, or can you get it? If so, then put the gift inside locker,
day 3- have their best friend deliver it to them, and say that it was from their secret santa. (if you want to be really sneaky, then give the gift to someone you trust to give to that person's friend)
day 4- put gift in their car(if they have one) or leave it at their house

have fun, and dont forget to have a small card that says

For: _________
From: Your Secret Santa

Need suggestions for Xmas gift for my Grandma!?

fringefire

I never know what to get. She's not into "current technology" like digital photos, computers, cell phones, CDs, etc. She has arthritis in her hands and hips and I was thinking maybe I could get something to ease the pain, but I need suggestions. She lives a very simple life, and unfortunately won't try anything too new or complicated. So I need a simple gift. Anyway, I was thinking it needs to be an item that relieves/soothes pain (she's 88).

Answer
Maybe not the pharmaceutical type answer your looking for but what about giving her a gift that means something extra special from her grand child.

If my grand parents are anything to go by it's all in the thought behind the present not the actual monetary value. I sympathise for your Grandmas illness but if there was a relief I would hope that her doctors would be prescribing it.

The suggestions may be a bit random because I donât know your relationship with your Grandma but here goes:-

1. A special fancy voucher that you have made yourself that your grandma receives allowing her to decide a great day out that she and 'her favourite grandchild' could do together followed up by a meal at her favourite restaurant or simply a meal at yours or her house (cooked by you of course)

2. Buy a starter kit of something you and her have never done so you can really get into a project together. (jigsaws, learn a foreign language, wine science, baking, history, quizzes) Schedule set days (or day) every week to spend some quality time with each other doing the new project.

3. Make a 'I wish I Had.......' template card for her with three or four spaces for her to fill in. You may be amazed at what she wants to do and even enjoy organising and participating in the events with her.

4. Have a 'What Grandma did for a fun afternoon' Invitation so on the day she tells you what she thinks is fun. Be it a bit or backgammon or chess down to watching or chatting about war stories and films. It would be her day so even if you didnât enjoy it you should go with the flow.

5. If you are in visiting distances, arrange a, 'I will cook for you one week, you cook for me the next bond' It's a great present in the form of a doctored diary or calendar and is a great way to spend some time with each other in a mutual interest that you can avoid 'awkward silent moments; as you will always be able to chat about the common interests of the meal your having and future planned meals.

Hope this helps and if you go with any of it let me know how it turns out.

girl rejected my xmas gift?

Q. I thought i was being nice and give a gift to a friend that I really care for but she said she don't deserve a gift like that now i feel like a complete fool today its like a slap in the face idk rather it was to expensive or what

Answer
Well, there are a few questions to ask. What is the status of our relationship? Are you two just friends? I've had a situation where a guy liked me and he and I were friends, not close friends, but friends nonetheless. He acted like we were dating and used to buy me gifts. I did not like him that way and I felt that we should stop hanging out because he would not stop treating me like his girlfriend. Other guys thought we were dating and they wouldn't approach me. Does she ever buy you gifts? She was probably uncomfortable with the gift because she felt that you two are not in the position to exchange gifts. She probably felt that if she accepted the gift she was just using you for gifts because she doesn't see you as more than a friend. I stopped accepting gifts from the guy that liked me and eventually we stopped hanging out all together. You are probably making this girl uncomfortable and this is her way of trying to hint around that you should probably not get her anything anymore. It was a nice gesture on your part but unless you two are dating or it is agreed that you two are exchanging gifts, than just don't do it. Just give her a Christmas card with some chocolates next time or something.

BTW, why is this in a valentines day category??...

under $10 for an unisex gift?

John D

Hi everyone,

Me and my gf are going to a Christmas party were we have to bring two gifts that are fit for a man or women and that is under $10.

It's a dirty santa (chinese gift exchange) type of deal where you pick from the pile and then the next person can either steal or pick from the pile.

The group of guest is quite varied (man in their late 30s, woman in the late 30s, few over 50s...)

Suggestions???? Alcohol is allowed but it seems cheesy.

Answer
Alcohol is DEFINITELY not cheezy. Trust me. I have been involved in many many of these kind of gift swapping parties. Wine is ALWAYS the hard to keep once chosen gift. I pride myself in finding inexpensive wines that are under priced. I would suggest 3 bottles of Forestville cab.
$3 a bottle at most chain grocery stores like Safeway. Your gift will be one of the sought after gifts.

40th birthday gift ideas?

Chezza

its my mums 40th birthday very soon and i would like to buy her something special that isnt very expensive, any ideas?

Answer
Get her something that lasts, so she'll remember a lovely day. You could buy her lots of tiny little things, like a necklace, a diary, a fancy pen, a picture frame, some chocolates, a tiny teddy and a nice perfume. It's lovely to open a gift bag and have lots of presents inside. Maybe even make a few things to go inside? You could do a drawing or write her a poem. I wish her a happy 40th and you good luck in getting her some lovely presents :)

Any good ideas for a 40th birthday gift?

Free Think

My "special friend" is turning 40 next month and I am trying to think of something very special and romantic, as much as possible. I was thinking about a hot air balloon ride but I don't think I can afford that. I was thinking that an activity of some type would be more meaningful and memorable than a material gift.

Any ideas?

Answer
a well planned out picnic on a ride to no where. just drive and find a spot. bottle of wine cheese crackers, potato or macaroni salad chicken rolls grapes and two cupcakes and a candle. oh and wine glasses, corkscrew and a blanket. just drive talk and when you see a good spot stop. and just enjoy each other for the day away from everyday life and stress. a great gift idea would be just a wonderful picture of yourself. if you live near a lake or ocean you could write I love you in the sand and lay down behind it in a cute casual pose and that would make a great picture if I love you is not what you want to say you could write happy birthday in the sand. Good luck

Best place to get souveniors in Las Vegas?

I'm a Libr

I was thinking of going to the worlds largest gift shop but all the reviews I have read are saying this place is a joke and the merchandise is poorly made.
So where is the best place to get key chains, refrigerator magnets, and other vegas stuff like that?

Answer
That gift shop (Bonanza Gift Shop at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Ave) sells the same crap as the other souvenir shops on the strip and Fremont Street, only it sells all of them. In other words, if you can't find it there you won't find it anywhere (excepting for property-specific items, of course, which you can get in the gift shop at any hotel-casino). Most of it is the tacky knick-knack variety ... it just gets a little overwhelming because there's so much of it.

If you want something a little unique, there's the Gambler's General Store on Main Street just north of Charleston. Anything and everything to do with gambling is sold there, from poker chips to dice to literally hundreds of decks of playing cards.

Bridesmaid gifts for a Las Vegas wedding?

calina

So I'm getting married in Las Vegas next year and have no idea what to get my bridesmaids. I wanted to give them a goodie bag of Las Vegas themed "stuff" but more so, I wanted to give them gifts that they'll enjoy. Any ideas?

Answer
Do you know what hotel you are staying at? Maybe you could get some gift or game vouchers or a gift certificate for a massage at the hotel while they are visiting.
I think the best thing to do would be to think of things that each of them like - you don't have to get them all the same gift. Like if one of your friends is really into hair/makeup you could try to find a las vegas compact mirror, some kind of las vegas makeup case, etc.
You could get them all towels for hanging out by the pool, deck of cards to play with in the room, etc.
You can try going to amazon.com - search for Las Vegas and see what kinds of stuff you can come up with.
