6 month anniversary gift?

i bought customized sweaters that say i love my boyfriend, i love my girlfriend for me and my boyfriend.
But i recently just found out that hes spending $200, and well mine only cost like $60...

We're already going to dinner, but what else should i get him? i've already made him c.ds for previously months, i've already wrote letters.

If you think of presents as price, your relationship is going nowhere. $200 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend, thats not even sweet.. to me, that just shows hes uncomfortable with actually picking something for you. for our 5th month-versary, i got him a dinosaur card that said '5' on it with a dinosaur badge because he loves dinosaurs. for when i came back from holiday, hed written me a piano composition. for christmas last year, wed had a big argument so i skipped school and spent all my money on a beatles songbook because he loves the beatles.. its not the money you spend, its the thought you put behind it.otherwise people just become shallow, materialistic people. youre celebrating spending time together, not who can spend the most money. its not a competition.
btw, $60 for sweaters is a bit of a rip-off.. a quick internet search'd find you 'his and hers' sweaters for under $30.
our last monthy versary was our 10th and we celebrated by spending time together and i made him a card :)
also-him telling you hes spending $200 is not on. i would seriously have a chat with him. pretty sure hes trying to prove he loves you more because hes spending more money.

edit: also isnt it going to be really awkward when exchanging gifts?? you wont be like 'i got you this' 'aww you did this for me?' 'yeah it took me ages' '<3' '<3', youll be like 'i got you this, it cost $100' 'igot you this it cost $200' 'huh' '...'

Leo gives the most expensive gift hands down!!! Leo is also the most generous of all the sign. Sure there are other signs that are very generous, but Leo is this way naturally all the time. Leo's don't mind helping anyone. Just don't cross them because you can become an enemy for life! I have tons of Leo's in my family and my man is a Leo. Their all the most generous in the family, and my man gives the most expensive gifts he can give. Sometimes I think why does he spend so much money? But, he says that he wants to give me the best. i just bought something off debenhams online site, i had the exact amount of money needed on the card and went to the checkout to pay for the items it said to put my debit card details in and next to them i put in my gift card pin, however it was never confirmed that the money from my gift card has been used and the confirmation e-mail i got immediately after didn't say anything about the gift card being used, i also checked the gift card balance online and it is still the same, is this what usually happens or have i done something wrong ?

Well thats how it is when you use debit cards or credit cards. The charge isn't immediately charge. Usually there are checks to be made then charged. Or some may wait until they can confirm its going to be shipped/available before charging the card.

So just wait awhile. I my self had to wait about a whole night for them to charge my debit card on a 120$ purchase.

i recently bought some items on debenhams online and wanted to pay with my gift card the price of the items all together was the exact amount i had on my giftcard, so i went onto the check out page and keyed in my debit card details as it was compulsory and then i put in my gift card pin (the number on the back) and confirmed it, 2 days later i checked my bank account balance and the money has been taken out and i checked my giftcard balance and it is still the same as it was before i bought the items, does anyone know what i've done wrong and how i go about correcting this mistake and getting the money back into my bank account and off of my giftcard , thank you

Why did you enter your debit card details?

In the card details box when paying you enter the long number on the back of the giftcard.....and then your giftcard pin.

you'll need to send/take the item(s) back for a refund when you get them and repurchase using the giftcard.

My personal belief is that stuff for the house should be bought regardless and should not be given as a gift, unless it is something unnecessary and she has specifically asked for it. I think that personal occasions should have a personal gift given. I am someone who will never ask for something personal and will be more practical and ask for an appliance for a gift just because I feel bad asking him to spend money on me, but he loves me enough to do it anyway. Even if someone is practical, they would enjoy something personal better, and you should buy the juicer anyway because, as you said, the family can enjoy it.

Get her something that SHE can enjoy, not the family.

1. Apostle (Greek: apostolos). One sent forth---as God sent forth his Son, Jesus---into the world with the message of salvation (Heb. 3:1). Jesus, in turn, sent forth His twelve apostles, empowered by the Holy Spirit with the good news of salvation (Matt. 28:19-20), and universal authority in matters of doctrine for His disciples. These twelve apostles became the first building blocks to be placed on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:20: 4:11,12). They were also given the responsibility to equip saints for ministry within the church as well as minister to their surrounding community. Each new generation has submitted to the authority of Jesus Christ, His apostles, and their writings up to this very hour. Paul was the last apostle to be placed on the foundation of Jesus Christ eliminating any need for new apostles (1 Cor. 15:9). He became a prime example of a man who discovered his gifts and wrapped his life around them; "...1 was appointed a preacher, and an apostle and a teacher" (2 Tim. 1:11).
2. Prophecy (Greek: propheteia). The spiritual ability to speak forth the mind and counsel of God. Prophets in the Old Testament were used by God to speak to Israel about current and future events. Jesus was the prophet to come(Deut. 1:8-18; Acts 2:22-23). The prophets in the body of Christ were called to speak forth the word of God about present and future events (Acts 2:17-18; 11:27-28), equip the saints for ministry (Eph. 4:11,12), as well as edify, comfort and encourage believers within the body of Christ and reveal the secrets of men's hearts (1 Cor. 14:3, 23-25). Agabus (Acts 21:10-11) and the four daughters of Philip, the evangelist, were given the gift of prophecy among so many (Acts 21:9).

3. Evangelist (Greek: eulangelistes). The spiritual ability to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ's redemptive story to a dying world lost in their sin and shame (Romans 3:23). Jesus modeled this gift of evangelism with Nicodemus (John 3:16). The good news is, in the words of Paul; "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved" (Rom. 10:9,10). The evangelists were also called of God to equip others to develop their spiritual gifts (Eph. 4:11,12). Philip was known as an evangelist (Acts 8:4-13, 21:8).

4. Pastor-teacher (Greek: poimen didaskalos). The spiritual ability to shepherd the flock of God (guarding, guiding, encouraging, warning, etc.), feed them the Word of God, and equip them to find their gifts so that they, too, can do the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11, 12). Peter (John 21:15-17;1 Peter 5:1-15).

5. Serving (Greek: diakonia, the root for deacon). The spiritual ability to meet the physical needs of people within a given community of believers or unbelievers. One of the first examples of the serving gifts in action was re- corded in Acts 6:1-6 when the apostles selected seven men out of their group to minister to the poor Hellenistic Jewish widows who needed food. This in turn set the apostles free to minister with their spiritual gifts Phoeba, Acts 16:1).

6. Teaching (Greek: didaskalos). The spiritual ability to take the truth from the Word of God and explain it clearly so that the flock of God can under- stand it and apply those spiritual truths effectively to their daily lives. It appears that one can have the spiritual gift of teaching without being a pastor- teacher, but one cannot be a pastor without being a teacher . The natural gift of teaching can communicate any subject but yields just understanding of that subject. The spiritual gift of teaching communicates biblical truth and motivates men and women toward a life of godly obedience to that truth. Apollos and Paul had the spiritual gift of teaching (Acts 18:24-28, 2 Tim. 1:11).

7. Encouragement (Greek: parakaleo). The spiritual ability to come alongside a person who may be hurting spiritually or emotionally and offer them a word of comfort concerning the past and a word of encouragement, admonishment (truth in love), and challenge so that they will be able to walk in the steps of the Spirit in the future. A man named Joseph was renamed Barnabas (son of encouragement) by the apostles because of his ministry to the early church in Jerusalem (Acts 4:36-37).

8. Giving (Greek: metadidomi). The spiritual ability to give financially or materially to the needs of others within the body of Christ or the community in which they live. They express this spiritual gift in simplicity to the glory of God without drawing attention to themselves. Barnabas sold a field and gave the money to the apostles for the good of the church (Acts 4:36-37).

We bought our soon to be 6 year old a Wii. He plays with it but its not oriented to someone so young. The games require a lot different things at once and its hard for one so young. But for a 9 year old they have way more coordination and reading skills. Also they are just more patient sometimes. My 6 year old niece has a DS and she loves it. I personally think the Wii is loads of fun and gets them moving. My son loves the boxing game and it gets him off the coach and bopping around the living room.

I wish people would be a child's interests in here to make it easier to suggest anything. These kids of today usually want expensive toys. If he has a computer to work on or an MP3 player, then get him a game or music. You could always give him a gift certificate so he can choose what he wants. I know that is not as personal, but I like to give gifts they will want and use. If he doesn't have a cell phone, that could be an option. If he likes sports, then give him something for sports. I really like board games the whole family can play together and have a great time together with the whole family. Movie tickets maybe to a show he might like to see or music CD's. You know him best.

Where can I buy Amazon gift cards in Canada?

Which canada stores can I buy Amazon gift cards? I live in Montreal, Quebec if that helps...

I wish I could help you, man. Online, amazon.com has a whole list of stores where you can buy gift cards. I couldn't find the same info. here. And, for the life of me, I can't recall seeing amazon cards with all the big card displays at grocery stores, Shoppers, etc., for iTunes gift cards, Best Buy, Futureshop, different restaurants, etc.

EDITED TO ADD: you CAN buy online amazon.ca gift certificates, which are simply emailed to the recipient. They usually arrive within a few hours (although i have read complaints about delays). I've sent MANY online amazon.ca gift certificates without a single problem. However, they can only be used for online purchases. As such, you should make it no less than $50, or the shipping fees will take up most of the amount.

That said, I don't use those online gift cards as much as I use MasterCard gift cards, now. That way, the recipient can use them however he/she likes, at whatever stores, even online. There is an activation fee (about 10%...so that's painful). And they do start applying fees to unused amounts (so instruct the recipient to use it as soon as possible, and not save it for a rainy day, as the value may be reduced significantly, over time). But when you don't know what the person would like, and since you can't mail cash, MasterCard gift cards are an option. (I specify MasterCard because the Visa one has a lot more fees associated with it.)

Duties/Taxes on gifts from Canada?

My fiance will be flying out from Quebec and visiting me in Texas. Being the holiday season, she intends on bringing a few Christmas presents along with her. She intends to bring 5 gifts, of which the total price is about $300. We know this is over the tax free gift limit, however, we have know clue as to how much she will exactly be made to pay for the excess amount. I've taken gifts to the US on several trips and have never had to pay anything... infact I don't even remember claiming that I was taking them..(as in I dont' know that there was a spot on the form that asked this).....I never wrapped them because they'll unwrap them anyway! I just packed them in my luggage and away we went.
Good on ya for claiming them. :) and note that they will unwrap them if you take them in your carryon luggage. (see link provided)

I did however claim the things I brought back from my trips in the USA, but rarely was I above my exemption amounts.

Using Visa or American Express Gift Cards on PayPal

One of the most popular gift card questions online is whether one can link prepaid gift cards like the Visa gift card to a PayPal account. The short answer is Yes and No.

Now, the long answer: Yes, it is possible to link a prepaid gift card like the Visa or American Express gift card to a PayPal account but for this to happen, you need to pray and hope that PayPal does not require you to go through their Expanded Use verification process. To better understand why, you first need to be familiar with the process for linking a credit card to a PayPal account. When you link your credit card to a PayPal account, PayPal will attempt to confirm your address with your credit card company. If the credit card company is not able to confirm your address, then you may be asked by PayPal to complete their Expanded Use enrollment process in order to activate your credit card.

Once you get the 4-digit code, you have to return to your PayPal account to enter the code per instructions from PayPal. Once completed, and PayPal confirms that you entered the correct code, you will now be able to use the card for PayPal transactions. The Expanded Use verification process is designed to protect you against fraud by verifying that the person attempting to use the credit card actually owns the card. PayPal will later credit the amount charged to your card to your PayPal account.

Now, here lies the problem with using prepaid or bank issued gift cards. If PayPal is unable to verify your address with the gift card issuer, then you may be asked to go through the Expanded Use process. Since most prepaid gift cards do not issue monthly statements or provide online access to gift card transactions, it will be impossible to complete the Expanded Use process. Also, it is not a good idea to call the credit card or gift card issuer to get the 4-digit Expanded Use code. i got my ring today and i was so happy for the box of the ring it was very nice idea but when i open the box of the ring it was different then the picture it was silver not black with this colour it became for girls

I have worn many hematite rings before, and like this one, they are all very delicate. While they are amazing for health and spiritual purposes, its important to know that they WILL crack under pressure. No joke. If you are filled with bad energy, they WILL explode into little bits. Hematite is funny that way.

Also its very very picky. Youll notice when you wear it that itll get very hot, almost a burning feeling, or it will get super cold, both of which arent good.

if it gets to be a nice warm feeling, like it belongs there, then youve gotten one that likes you.

Point is, before you buy this ring, regardless of how pretty they are (and they are gorgeous), know what youre getting yourself into.

This product is exactly what it says on the tin: a gorgeous hematite ring. Simple, but classic and beautiful. Be aware that hematite is a very fragile stone - I have broken rings before (although not this one) - and you do have to be very careful with it, but that's not the fault of the seller. It's just a property of the stone.

I didn't purchase the ring for its health benefits, but rather for the aesthetic appeal. I do love the way it feels, though. I also would disagree with the reviewer who said its silverish color made it a girl's ring. It is really a very highly polished black or dark grey, and would complement a male or female hand well. Google "polished hematite" and you'll see some better pictures of the color to expect.

The seller shipped this ring very quickly, and it arrived in a lovely gift box. And I absolutely adore the product. Highly recommended.
