iPod 4th generation question ooh~!?

Shannon

My friend told me that she bought and iPod touch 4th generation yesterday at Myer... is she lying??? She didn't seem like she was??

Answer
Myer currently only sells the ipod touch 8gb (3rd generation)
http://gifts.myer.com.au/au_apple-ipod-touch-8gb-with-bonus-logitech-speaker_d_3941.aspx
online it comes with a speaker system, jacking the price a little bit.
I even went to the store today to confirm this, they sell it separate, but only the 3rd generation, and only the 8gb.
there, hope it helps

What is a good birthday gift to give a 90 year old woman?

Jessica

Answer
Some time--a gift of your time.

To be taken out to dinner by you, not for her birthday, but on a Tuesday, when nothing special is going on.

A book of stamps, a box of assorted greeting cards, as it is hard to get to the store and she would like to send birthday, sympathy, etc. cards.

Pre-cooked, home-made meals, individually packaged, so that she can freeze them, then take them out and enjoy them when she wants to.

A home-cooked meal, brought by from time-to-time, and you to eat it with her. It's just food if it is dropped off; it's a meal when enjoyed with a friend!

Gift certificates for her heating, gas, electric bills.

Gift certificates for the grocery store, local restaurants that deliver, gift certificates for the local chain drug store, Wal-Mart, etc.

An offer to drive her to the doctor, dentist, etc.

An offer to clean her home, or a maid-service gift certificate.

A chance to spend some time with you, and a lingering hug when you leave. Older folks really, really miss being touched and hugged. Often, their mates have died, their children and grand-children are grown and too busy, and they are touch-deprived. It is a sad but true fact of getting older.

I need gift ideas for my great aunts 90th birthday. Any suggestions?

in-cog-ni-

Answer
if she is like I am, I don't want things that I don't need, won't use and when I die someone has to get rid of the gifts
do something nice for her, maybe treat her to a special meal , or just give her lovely flowers

Can this telescope shipped to Malaysia?

John Ace

http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php?ProdID=429

AstroMaster 130EQ, and this telescope is for my young brother for his 15th birthday so I'm giving this scope as his gift. So, I wonder is this telescope can be shipped to Malaysia and how I'm going to pay it? PayPal, Debit Card or Credit Card. How long it takes to ship it to Malaysia? And if Celestron cannot ship this item to Malaysia, what any other online stores that offers shipment to Malaysia? Thanks in advance, and I relly need your help.

Answer
I went to www.telescopes.com web, added that telescope to the cart and went to checkout. On the checkout page there is international shipping to many countries, including Malaysia. You will have to give your exact address to find out how much shipping will cost, how payment can be made, and so on.

Is the world going to end in 2012?

Alexa

Okay, so, everyone is saying that on December 21, 2012 the world is going to end..
They say because the Myan Calendar ends on that day, and for many more reasons.
The movie got me really scared (2012), in the movie the first thing that flooded was New York, and New York recently flooded. So I have been worried and crying.. I don't want to die. Please tell me the truth. :(

Answer
On Dec 21st, the Mayan calendar ends. And a new one begins. The Mayans fully expected that the world would continue with the next calendar. Just as we do with our calendar.
OUR calendar ends on Dec 31st. And a new one begins.

The only difference is that the Mayan calendar is a LOT longer than ours.
You still have to go guy a Xmas gift for your mom so she has something from you on Xmas day.

The movie was the idea of the imagination of a Hollywood script writer. How boring would the film of been if Dec 21st came ... and nothing happened?
No there are NO more reasons for the end of the world ... ONLY a movie script that sold. Nothing more.

Any ideas for a nephew that is turning 1 and the youngest of his two older brothers?

lovetoknow

My nephew is turning 1 on Nov. 30, 2012. He has 2 older brothers. one is 4 1/2 and the other is almost 3. So he get all the hand-me-downs and that makes it extremely difficult to know what to get him since the other boys have so much stuff and I mean ALOT. So please if you can respond and help out>Thank you!!!!!!

Answer
Depends how much you want to spend and what the purpose of the gift is (ie Birthday, Xmas etc)

BUT.... a one year old with older sibblings - Thomas the Tank Engine Train (sure they probably have lots of them ... but he will love his own ... there are some great ones that are bath toys which would be perfect for a one year old)
CD - yes they have lots already ... but I promise you they will all have scratches on them
Bag - something of this own (even one with his name on) a lunch bag or backpack to put his stuff in
Books - at the age of one board books are ideal (there is always something new on the shelf & an exchange voucher means they can swap it if the have it!)

Teen Vogue Handbook...? =D?

paigeyloug

I got the Teen Vogue Handbook for Christmas!!!!! And I love it!!!!!! I'm 13. I was wondering who else has it and what they want be in the fashion industry and how old they are. I want to be a fashion journalist. Also, what should I study in college to acheive that goal do you think/courses in high school. Do you think I should take fashion design?
My English teacher says I'm the best writer in my class Answerer #2. She's gonna put my into Honors English 9 for freshman year btw.

Answer
i recieved the teen vogue handbook as a gift as well and i am also interested in fashion journalism. take all of the writing classes you can possibly take. i'm taking AP language and composition, creative writing, and newspaper. (all teachers say to their students that they think they are the best in the class so you really won't know if you truly are a good writer until you reach the real world so dont get too ahead of your self) fashion design is not a good way to go because obviously design is not journalism so that would not help jump start a career in journalism. take a fashion history class or an art history class instead.
good luck.

Gift for a jewelry maker?

Suet

She is turning 18. Starting classes at some correpondence place. What is a great gift idea?

Answer
Bead organizers are always great. I make jewelry and am obsessed with those cases that have little jars inside of them for storage. Most crafters are supply hoarders, so storage is always good. You could also get her a gift card for a website like firemountaingems. Also, if you know that she focuses on a certain type of jewelry making, maybe you could get her a book on another type as well as some basic materials to go with that type of jewelry making. If she does wire wrapping, wire and interesting stones are always good. If she does beading, find a glass studio and get her some really cool hand made focal beads. If she makes chain maile, then bags of jumprings are always good. You could also find a local bead/gem shop, and get her a gift card for there. Or, you could get her a couple bricks of polymer clay and a book on making beads and jewelry from polymer clay.

Is a scrap book a great girl gift or jewelry?

IAN

I dont know what to get my best friend for graduation..
a scrap book of our memories.. or jewelry?? need help

Answer
If you shop smartly, you can get both! This bright scrapbook from MemoryScrapbooks.com http://www.memoryscrapbooks.com/mb88cbf.html is less than $12, and comes in 19 different awesome colors so you can pick the one you're sure she'll love :) Plus, it's completely photo safe, meaning she'll always be able to cherish the album her best friend built just for her.

To find some beautiful, affordable jewelry, check out FantasyJewelryBox.com http://www.fantasyjewelrybox.com/ To keep prices even lower, check out their sale section http://www.fantasyjewelrybox.com/department-onsale.html It could be extra meaningful if you buy two of the same item, one for your friend, and one for you, so you'll have a more grown-up version of 'best friend' jewelry. If you don't have the same tastes, or if you're a guy, buy two pieces that complement each other perfectly without being exact matches - just like the 2 of you!!! Hope this helps :)

Gifted 6 Year Old?

Elizabeth

My 6 year old son has a memory like a trap, can label all 50 states on a map, and can do 100+ piece puzzles, understands the concept of negative and positive numbers in basic math, can pick out tunes on the piano, and even harmonize to songs without being taught how (he's had very little musical instruction so far.) Is this normal for a 6 year old, or is there a chance he may be gifted?

Answer
More than likely he's gifted. But there's a big difference between bright and gifted. He will ask you questions on and on. He will be amazed at things that normal 6 year olds could care less about. Don't be suprised if he launces a 'Save All African Children' campaign against you. He will get bored to tears in a regular classroom and most schools don't have GOOD programs for gifted children. The schools I attend have Gifted/Talented. It does nothing except make more things for the secretaries to file. He, as hard as it is to believe, may actually not bring home good grades all the time (though this is fairly uncommon in gifted children). You may find that he's very uncoordinated because gifted childrens' minds focus on things other than running in PE. His mind is still the size of his two fists. The only real difference in his mind is it's 'sponge-ness.' He may, however, be just as good in athletic programs as all the other 'average' kids. It's kind of hard to predict about your child because, well, this is the internet and none of us know your kid. Remember, not all things meet the eye. Einstein's teachers thought that he was a retard (litterally, mentally retarded). He sounds fantastic. Good luck in not wanting to duct tape his mouth one day.

Gift certificates to Target, Toys R Us and Walmart. Toys R Us has an assortment of things for EVERYONE and stuff that you probably never knew that you wanted. Chemistry Labs, books, video games, planetariums for your room, magazines, Star Wars stuff, great Halloween stuff, etc.
It is fun to go on a shopping spree with gift certificates.

You write quite well for an eleven/ soon to be twelve year old.

car gift, no sales/use tax?

lindows79

I am planning to get a used car which will be gifted to me by my friend. Will I have to pay any use/sales tax? Car KBB value is $7000. Will my friend have to pay any tax as he is gifting it to me?

If I buy the car instead from a third-party seller, how much will be the use/sales tax?

I did not anticipate these expenses and want to avoid/minimize the tax i pay, please suggest what is the best way to approach this
I am in Santa Clara, CA

Answer
It depends what state you live in.

In Indiana where I'm from there's a small gift tax of 30 or 40 dollars,
but here in Texas if you receive a vehicle as a gift you still have to pay sales tax for the MARKET VALUE of the vehicle which is KBB value. Our sales tax is 8.25%.

But as I said every state is different, what state are you in??

surprise 50th birthday ...gifts welcomed wording?

Krystal

My two younger sisters and I are throwing my mom a surprise 50th bday party in a couple of mnths. Its not going to be anything formal. We are renting a pavillion (shelter) at a local park and going to be throwing a type of bbq. She loves that type of thing so it works perfect. My mom is one of those amazing moms that NEVER ask for anything for herself but me and my sisters would like people to bring gifts (including gag gifts...shes got a great sense humor) . We are making the invitation ourselves and I was wondering how we should word it. I plan on putting it all the way at the bottom of the invitation. Maybe if someone had some type of quick poem. Im not very good at stuff like that. Thanks in advance :)

Answer
Your mother surely deserves every good thing life has to offer, and she no doubt will be thrilled with the surprise party you and your sisters are giving her. Unfortunately, however, there really is no decent or polite way to request gifts in a birthday party invitation, not even when it's in honour of someone like your mum, who never asks for anything for herself.

Rest assured, however, that generally, when people are invited to a "Birthday" party, they automatically assume they are to bring a present of some sort. At your mother's age, people often DO give silly "gag" gifts, but you can also expect she will receive things like manicure gift cards and other "pampering" gifts.

You can also expect invitees to call one of you to ask what your mother might like for a present. They might ask what her favourite colour is, or if there is a certain perfume she particularly fancies. In such cases, answer them honestly, emphasizing how very thoughtful they are to even THINK to give her a gift.

Yes, I know, that last sentence probably made you wonder if I'd read your question right. The thing is, when one is hoping or fishing for gifts, one isn't supposed to be obvious about it. To avoid offending invitees by looking too eager for gifts, focus instead on their 'thoughtfulness' in even considering a gift, which in turn will ironically make them all the more sure to bring one.

Meanwhile, do keep in mind that regardless of any gifts brought by guests, this surprise party will be something your mother never forgets. It is the thoughtfulness of YOU kids that may well be the greatest gift of all on her 50th...and beyond.

Birthday gift?

where can i buy a music/jewelry box from a store? not online cus her birthday party is next friday, i dont want to spend over $50

Answer
Found this, Should be helpful:

Gifts according to your sign:
Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Active Aries is always looking for ways to stay in shape, particularly during the holiday season... so athletic equipment is usually a good choice. People born under this sign are also fond of the color red, so a cranberry scarf or a scarlet hat could win their favor. If romance is in the air, let Aries know that you put his or her needs first. Buy tickets for two to a sporting event you loathe... or a CD by an artist you can't stand... to win big points with your favorite Ram.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates any gift that appeals to his or her sensual side. A box of gourmet chocolates, a richly colored tapestry or a soft cashmere blanket are all great options for Bulls. This sign also enjoys having money to play with, so a gift certificate to their favorite store is a welcome option. Always remember that quality is more important than quantity â Taurus would rather have a small bottle of expensive cologne than a carafe of the cheap stuff.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Quick-witted Geminis enjoys gifts that appeal to their sizable intellects. A challenging book is always welcome, as is a magazine subscription. This sign rules the hands, so some scented hand lotion or a sparkling ring might delight. Geminis also love to entertain, so a set of glassware might fit the bill. If you want to splurge on a special Twin, give them the latest cell phone or PDA, so they can keep in touch with their gazillion friends.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sentimental Cancer loves gifts that have personal meaning. Handmade items always delight, whether it's a finger painting, angora sweater or mincemeat pie. This sign also has a special affinity for silver â a monogrammed hand mirror or picture frame would be very well received. Since Crabs have an affinity for liquids of all kinds, a special bottle of wine, a fancy cappuccino maker or a shiny tea kettle are also good possibilities. And don't forget that these Moon children love the domestic arts â a cookbook specializing in comfort food is another sure winner.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Lions love gifts that make them look and feel terrific. Hair accessories, cosmetics and grooming items are all good choices for this image-conscious sign. Leos love drama, and enjoy presents that involve a bit of flair. Opera tickets, gold jewelry or animal print lingerie are right up this cat's alley. Leos also love to gamble, so a sheaf of lottery tickets or a weekend getaway to the casino could make them purr with delight. When shopping for clothing, remember that Lions have a special affinity for red, gold and purple.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgins love practical gifts...so avoid dust-catching baubles. A bread-making machine or a power drill would be equally welcome. These folks are also known to pride themselves on their impeccable appearance. Scented soaps, lotions and shampoos made by an earth-friendly company might be just the ticket. Virgos are also incredibly organized and might appreciate a good watch or a leather-bound date book. Or try a health-conscious basket of organic foodstuffs.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Librans have a special affinity for music, and always appreciate a good CD to add to their voluminous collection. If you want to do something really special for a Libran friend, splurge on a two concert tickets â this sign hates to do anything alone. Born beneath the sign of the scales, they also need plenty of balance in their lives, so a pair of candlesticks or bookends might appeal. If you're still stumped for ideas, have a lavish bouquet of red roses delivered accompanied by a loving handwritten note.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpions are secretive by nature and enjoy gifts that obscure their appearance in some way. A pair of designer sunglasses, a filmy scarf or a slouchy hat are all great choices for this sign. These mystery-lovers also enjoy moody, atmospheric stories. A collection of film noirs on DVD are sure to go over well with your favorite Scorpion. The rumors concerning this sign's sexual appetite are happily true, so seductive lingerie would get plenty of use. Since Scorpions also like to get beneath the surface; a gift certificate for a deep-cleansing facial will be appreciated.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
As far as Archers are concerned, half the fun of getting gifts is ripping them open! If Sag doesn't like a present, though, he or she will tell you outright. Avoid awkward scenes this holiday season by giving this outdoor enthusiast some camping equipment. Hiking boots or a water-proof parka would also be appropriate. These animal lovers adore any gift associated with their pets. A calendar filled with pictures of dogs or horses is sure to elicit a big smile. Finally, you can always feed this sign's wanderlust with a comprehensive atlas.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career-oriented Capricorn always enjoys gifts that will boost their job status. A leather laptop carrier or monogrammed briefcase would be welcome. Contrary to popular belief, though, Goats aren't all work and no play. This sign is blessed with a wicked sense of humor, so try the BBC's "The Office" series on DVD. Capricorns also love luxurious presents they'd never buy for themselves, like a silk bathrobe.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
You never know what this unpredictable sign will be doing from moment to moment â one week it's skydiving and the next it's yoga! Still, this quirky sign always appreciates technological gadgets, whether it's an all-region DVD player or an iPod Nano. If you'd like to choose something a little more personal, why not make a photo album detailing all of your exploits with the Water-Bearer? Aquarius may not show it, but they harbor a special fondness for their friends. Still stumped for ideas? A basket filled with brand new socks is both weird and practical enough for this sign, which rules the ankles.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
These mystics love gifts of all kinds, but especially ones that help them escape the harsh realities of life. A bottle of champagne, a kaleidoscope or a book of fairy tales will appeal to your Fishy friends. And because Pisces is a Water sign, it's a good bet they'll appreciate bath salts, foaming cleansers and shower gels. If you'd like to give something really special, a digital camera will make a bit hit with this natural-born photographer. Looking for a romantic gift? Choose a gilt-edged volume of love poetry.

Cheers!

Who should give the Valentine gift first: the man or the woman?

RAE

Should the woman wait until he gives the Valentine gift FIRST before giving him the gift?
How about if he doesn't have the Valentine gift, wouldn't that make her look stupid?

Answer
Gifts are from the heart. If you brought him a gift, I would present it to him. If he didn't bring you one, he will feel bad enough without having to say anything. I wouldn't say anything at the moment, but the next time you are together sitting quietly I would tell him that it was disappointing to you not to be recognized as special on Valentine's Day. Ask him why he didn't bring you a gift? If he says because of money, ask him why he didn't make a plan to take you on a lovely walk, make you a card, plan a dinner for you that he made. There are a lot of things that can be done that do not cost a lot. We all have to eat, so purchasing food for a meal isn't an added expense. Don't ever feel stupid for gifting someone. That comes from the heart.

What x'mas gift can I get my boyfriend in the UK?

Dinu C

I'm a little low on cash, and wondering what to send him. He likes chocolates, bikes (doesn't have one yet :)), buys all his own groceries and stuff and is a student.

Any place i can get christmas food stamps? I think that'll be useful to him

Answer
I don't think supermarkets like Tesco and Asda do vouchers. You could always buy him a few of his essentials like chocolates, tea, coffee, nice crisps, biscuits then put it in a cheap Christmas bag so he won't have so much to buy when grocery shopping.

can i get gift vouchers for baby milk in the uk?

ge100g

Answer
I am not aware of any for milk but you can get vouchers for boots, tesco, ASDA etc which can be used to buy milk.

The old milk vouchers from the benefits could be exchanged for various milk from baby clinics but these have now been replaced by healthy vouchers that can be used for formula milk under 1 year of age and cows milk or fruit/veg over 1 year. If you go to your local baby clinic they may have vouchers you can buy to exchange for milk.

and I pass this money on to another person on the same day it goes into my account how many times does it incur taxes and who pays the taxes
This is in Australia

Answer
K11etc is wrong. The gift tax is not paid by the person who RECEIVES the gift, it is paid by the person who GIVES the gift. So a series of gifts could stay $150,000.

You are entitled to gift any number of people up to $13,000 in one year without REPORTING IT. No tax is due until you have given away a lifetime total of $1 million. Period. If you give away more than $13,000 to one person in one year, you are supposed to file IRS Form 709 to report it. There is no tax due until your total lifetime gifts exceed $1M.

So if no one in the chain has already given away more than $850,000, there will be no gift tax due from ANYONE.

This is in America. Australia does not impose gift tax or inheritance tax.

Ideas for a 13 year old girl's Christmas gift?

Eliza

What would be a good gift to get her? No higher than $150. Thanks.

Answer
Christmas Gifts Ideas For Your Teenage Girl
String Lights - Teenage girls like glistening lights, stringing them around the mirror or her vanity is always a good choice. Choosing a string of soft white lights works best. It softly brightens up a room. Teens will sit in the dark and agonize while doing homework, ask them if they want a light on and, "no I can see" is the answer you are more than likely going to get. However they will turn that pretty string of lights on too illuminate the room enough to see.

Compact Digital Cameras - Teenage girls love taking pictures. With a small compact digital camera they can carry it everywhere with them and click to their heart's content. If you choose this option, do not forget to buy a memory card to go along with the camera. A 8MB is an excellent choice. Your teen will be able to store up to a thousand photo's depending on the megapixal of the camera.

Posters - Find out who or what your teen is into and buy posters. What teenage girl doesn't like to fill her bedroom space with posters? Remember this, teenage girls change their preferences like lightning. What was in last week, is on the way out this week. My niece had her wall plastered with Johnny Depp's Alice In Wonderland, and now she is digging Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds. So beware! Tastes change quickly.

Jewelry - You cannot go wrong when you are buying jewelry. Every teenage girl loves a pair of sparkling earrings, bracelets and rings. And if you have a teenager that has other piercings like a belly, eyebrows, lips or a tongue, then you have a huge selection to pick from. When you go into the jewelry store, I am sure you will have no problem finding a salesperson to help you pick out the proper piece of jewelry for her piercing. Silly Bandz are another hot item, they are getting very popular, they have exciting themes teenagers really enjoy.

Pre-Paid Credit Cards - These are so much better than a gift card. Because with a pre paid-credit card your teenage girl can go anywhere she wants to spend it. With a gift card you have to spend it at all in one place. This way she can buy whatever it is she has been wanting to buy, at different stores if she so chooses. These are readily available at many stores. You should have no problem finding them.

Christmas Gift Baskets - These are perfect little baskets full of treasures sure to make your teenage girl happy. You can include positively anything and everything. What does your teenager like? Perfumes, jewelry, decorative socks, undies, bath items, shampoo, toothbrushes, make-up, money, school stuff, picture frames, magazines, treats and other favorite items you think your teenage girl will like. A gift basket is perfect because it is made with love.

Magazine subscriptions - Teenage girls like to read about the latest fashions, and buzz going on in the world around them. Imagine how excited your teen will be receiving a magazine or two in the mail every month.

Creative ways to give a gift card/money?

I have several people asking for gift cards and money for christmas this year and needed some cute/clever ideas to give them! I am thinking about a Gift Card snow globe type deal I saw on Pinterest as well as a Money Tree (also seen on pinterest). Any others would help!

I would prefer stuff that actually required effort, not this put inside a book and wrap stuff. That's no fun.

Some hobbies of the people:
Workout, Baptist, Catholic, Cook/Bake, Sew, and Read.

Answer
1.) If youâve opted to give a gift card to a fast food restaurant, or a chain restaurant that the recipient frequents for lunch â wrap it in a brown lunch bag. Tie some ribbon around it, add a bow, or decorate with holiday stickers for an entire food/lunch theme!

2.) Maybe youâre giving a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant that requires a suit and tie. Wrap it in a cloth napkin with a bow, or teach yourself to fold the napkin in a special and unique way. Itâll show you actually put thought into the present!

3.) Starbucks gift cards are a popular gift to receive in my household. Put the gift card in a personalized mug and then put a bow on top.

4.) Giving a gift card to a clothing store? Get adventurous. Slip the gift card into the pocket of a new shirt or new pair of pants to encourage the recipient to complete the ensemble youâve thoughtfully started.

5.) If youâre giving a gift card to a cinema to a movie buff, find an empty popcorn container and packing peanuts. Tear the packing peanuts into smaller bits; spray paint them white and yellow to make them look like popcorn. Then hide the gift card in the popcorn container with the makeshift popcorn on top.

6.) Purchase a cheap, inexpensive wallet, and slip the gift cards into the billfold section!

7.) If youâre giving a gift card to a CD store, or an iTunes gift card, put it in a cassette box.

8.) Gift cards to bookstores you can have a lot of fun with. Tape the card to the inside cover of a secondhand classic book. If you have an old book lying around (or can purchase for really cheap at a yard sale), carve out the pages so thereâs a space to lay the gift card among the pages!

9.) Take an old Crayola Crayons box; wrap it in a brown paper bag. Now youâre free to decorate it any way you see fit!

10.) Take a box of chocolates , take the chocolates out and put money in the chocolate holders

11.) Money Origami -What's cooler than getting cash in the shape of the things you could buy with the money? Use money origami to make a collared shirt and some boots. Add in a bow-tie and you have a new wardrobe! The possibilities are endless, and the time you put in will definitely earn you a few impressed looks. The only downside is the recipient won't want to "unwrap" the gift!

12.) Pop for Your Cash- Fill a bunch of balloons with dollar bills, blow them up, and then give the recipient a little box with a pin inside. Theyâll soon figure out that their job is to pop the balloons and collect the cash that falls out.

13.) Cold Hard Cash-Put your the cash in a plastic bag and close it tight. Place it in a container of water and stick it in the freezer for a few hours. The recipient will have to chip away at the block of ice (or wait for it to melt!) in order to reach the present.

14.)Never-Ending Roll- Cut a slit in a cardboard box (shoe boxes work great!), wide enough to fit the short side of a dollar bill through. Tape the bills together, end to end, and roll them up inside the box. Tape one end to a sign that says "Pull Here," making sure the sign hangs outside the box while hiding the dollar bills that are attached to it inside. When the recipient pulls the tab, the cash will flow out, and the present will take some time to unwind.

Creative gifts?

Kicks like

Ok, I have a friend who is very creative, and loves things that you put together yourself (the gift giver). She loves anything to do with pictures (so picture frames are a good idea) and she loves sentimental things like pictures and poems. She also loves anything to do with coffee and scented candles. What should I get her?

Answer
1. Find pictures of the two of you and buy a picture ornament frame and give it to her

2. I'm having so much fun with this. Find a picture of you and her and send her this e-mail.

http://www.elfyourself.com/

Then for Christmas do a print screen of the little jig (hold the Alt and Prt Scr Button) in word paste it and edit the picture. Get the Picture framed and give it to her for Christmas. Totally Funny. She will Love it. Or with the image you could make ornaments from them with your faces as elfs.

3. Write her a letter about how the two of you met and and the milestones of your friendship (highschool, weddings, parents dying). Tell her how much you love her.

4. Give her a gift Certificate to a nursery to buy a tree or you could give her a little christmas tree she could plant outside with the following poem:

Trees start out as a seed
And grow with time.
We planted the seeds of friendship,
And our relationship took off from there.
As our friendship continues to grow,
I appreciate every ring on my tree.
For every ring symbolizes a special event, a laugh, or even a cry.
For you have made a difference in my life.
The events we weather in life make us who we are.
And just as a tree grows roots,
We grow roots.
We have developed a long lasting relationship.
I want to thank you for being my roots, my stable force.
I know I can count on you

~Unknown

5. Make her a stepping stone
6. Make her flavored vinegars in some nice bottles

what do you get a person a gift for I'm sorry?

jess

she has a romanian backround

Answer
depends more on why you need to say sorry, and how close you are to this person.

if you broke something, or the sorry is for something material, a good gift would be something to replace or improve what was lost/broken

if it was an emotional altercation and you are close to this person, a good gift might be something cute that would make her laugh, and spark a conversation again

if you aren't that close to the person, a written or verbal apology might be best, and a gift might make it seem like you are "buying" your forgiveness

if it's a major fight, instead of a gift, plan time or a dinner, or something that would let the two of you get together, with no cost for her (pick her up, shoulder all expenses, make sure she doesnt need to miss anything important for the meeting, etc.) that would let you talk and smooth things over.

and of course, the best gift for saying sorry is time. :D

where can i get sorry/forgiveness gifts or stuff to send someone?

Joe B

where can i get sorry/forgiveness gifts or stuff to send someone. my ex she says i invaded her privacy i checked her myspace messages once and i even told her i did but she left because of that one time. so any ideas what i can say, do or send to try and make it better.

Answer
Don't get a gift EVER to say sorry, that is a cheap thoughtless almost bribing act. Get gifts just because not to say your sorry. Tellher with words, or a letter or email how you feel, how sorry you are, and how you care.

Thanks

what is a good gift for a 9 year wedding anniversary?

william

Answer
Something elegant. Something classy. And it doesn't have to be extremely expensive. Just something unique and memorable that only you could have thought of.

Red Envolope has some pretty good ideas: http://tinyurl.com/greatgiftchoices

Also another one of my favorites is Popcornopolis: http://tinyurl.com/popcornopolis
They have a variety of gourmet flavored Popcorn gift baskets. Yes popcorn! Sounds crazy right? If all else fails, you can't go wrong with popcorn. They let you customize your own baskets and choose what flavors you want. Oh and the shipping is free.

Anyways, hope that helps.

men's gift for under 800 dollars?

Jen R

I'm not sure what to get my husband, my limit is 800 dollars, and I don't necessarily want to spend it all but that is my limit. He doesn't expect too much, but I want to get him something really nice this year. I know he would like a new deer Rifle, (I have no idea how to shop for one.) or a nice system for his truck, or a lift kit for his truck, or a dirt bike, a 42 inch TV, a pool or a pool table. I don't even know where to start with my budget, guys can you give me some ideas?

Answer
if he likes game systems the wii is a really cool active system that you could get him and there are cabela's big hunt games $50 for it as well as some bass fishing games $50, also guitar hero $150 is a popular game for guys. the wii game system itself can be purchased for anywhere between $250 and $500 depending on much shopping you're willing to do. it's way more fun than any other game system b/c like i said it's active so if you're playing tennis you swing the remote like a racket, if you're bowling you move your wrist like you would when rolling a bowling ball down the alley etc. if you go w/ this idea you definitely need some way to charge the remotes a docking station. and enough remotes for each person to have their own for however many ppl would play. extra remotes aren't very costly and they make it a lot more fun. you don't need the sports kit or whatever that has the racket, steering wheel, etc that the remote fits in... it's super easy once you get the hang of it. plus there's a wii fit program that you can exercise to as well as games for kids if you have any and something that the two of you could do together or as a family again depending on if you have kids. another idea is spend part of the money to take him on a trip and do something together that ya'll wouldn't normally do. go to a shooting range, take him camping... and then and if you happen to frequent a gun store and he finds a gun within the range of what you have left tell him you need to go to the bathroom, buy it for him and take it to the car. also you can do this in your own town and just go to a hotel for the night. another really good idea is to make him a gift basket of his favorite things (this might only be a good idea if he is sentimental and you have time) put things that he wouldn't normally purchase for himself in there, your fav. cologne on him, a new movie he wants to see and accessories for sporting equipment he already owns). these are just places to start...
