Birthday gift for a girl about 150 $?

jkjlhihbij

please give me some ideas..can be some luxury brand gift but not more than 200$

and rather not stuff like teddy bears, pictures, frames, and cd's ...it will be my last gift so i was thinking it could be more expensive than usual..maybe a watch, belt or sth..but maybe you could suggest me a brand
shes 15 and we used to be a couple but still she means a lot to me
thank you for your ideas:)
unfortunately ipod cant be a choice...she has all those newest technological gadgets already :(

Answer
A gift for a girl who already has everything? Hmmm how about a handcarved wooden jewelry box? It's a pretty nice gift for a girl. And considering the circumstances, you cannot give her anything too personal so this just might be it. Check out the MarqART collection, they have some awesome stuff and well within your budget too and will fit into being a luxury brand item too!

Does anyone know of a cool quirky online store where I can buy funny random things for my friend's birthday? Maybe things like silly straws and ironic tshirts.

Ebay....

What would be a quirky, fun gift to get my friend? :)?

musicIsThe

It's my friend's 28th birthday today, I've been working like mad lately and haven't had a chance to get anything. I'm seeing her in 7 hours, so I have most of today to get her something, but I can't think what.
She's a recently out lesbian (I'm gay too - so we refer to each other as LesBro's), loves baking, plays roller derby and is a little bit of a movie buff, but I don't want to get her anything boring like a cinema gift card... any suggestions on something quirky and funny to get her? :)
Cheers m'dears xxx

Answer
as a belated gift you can get her something cool from here and help support small time business peeps and artists :)http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade?q=roller%20derby&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ&min=0&max=0&ref=auto3&explicit_scope=1

What would be the perfect birthday present for my grandmother?

Clinton El

Its her 85th birthday in 5 days and I want to do something so memorable and wonderful that she loves more than any gift ever. I do not have too much money either and she hates presents. My sister is making her a scrapbook full of pictures, but I want to do something even better. Ideas please!?!?!

Answer
she is 85,don't give her the present costing too much, give her something special which can recall her beautiful and warm memory.
what is warm,family i think.
what can recall her of these happy time?album...
make an album for her,the kind that can be played on TV so you can share the warm memory together.all you need is photos or pictures of the sweet time and a tool to help you do that.
collecting photos isn't a problem,right?
the problem is the tool, but don't worry,i know one can help.
it's Digital Album Master, you can add a lots of pictures, and add background music, and the slide effect is amazing.after you do that, burn it in a blank DVD so you can share together.i think that'll make you grandma moved.
you can get it here http://www.makemymtv.com

Gift for father's 85th birthday?

Son of Soc

Father’s 85th birthday is Sunday. I’m stuck on what to get him for a gift. Can anyone suggest anything that might get me unstuck? His interests are: playing and watching golf, bridge, sports (baseball, football, tennis) Judaism, science (particularly astronomy and cosmology) and chess. He uses a computer for basic things but doesn’t seem interested in techy items like Iphones or Ipads at this point.
Prefer to spend less than $100.

Thanks

Thanks

Answer
I know all grandfathers and fathers are different...but for my father in laws 84th birthday we did all gag gifts and he loved it. We got a cake from SAMS with images of him scanned onto the icing over the years (which was the only sentimental thing we got), we got him a fart machine at Spencers which he uses on ANYONE who comes through the door, a tshirt that said something like "Im not 85, Im 84.92675", his card had something in it to the effect of "You're so old when God said let there be light, you flipped the switch"...just funny stuff that he really got a kick out of. At 84, my father in law doesnt want gadgets or gizmos or anything that he sees as a waste of money or that wont get used...so we took a completely different approach and it turned out really well. I think for Christmas we got him a new TV and a prior bday we got him a Pearl Harbor book signed by the author (father in law is a vet). GOOD LUCK!

Personalized gifts?

SMILE : ]

I am having a graduation dinner and I would like to know of some good personalized gift ideas to hand out. It's not that many people but I would like to show appreciation for them coming. It can't be too expensive though because I don't have much money. Any ideas would be great! Or websites.

Answer
I have found a lot of personalized items for parties on Ebay. Some are not so expensive, and they have some cute stuff.

Good luck!

Is personalized Christmas gift still popular these days?

Adela

I saw some cute personalized Christmas gifts and I want to get my friends. I think they will get surprised when they see their names are on painted on the gift. But I need to know, do you think the personalized gift is still popular these days?

Answer
I gave an engraved necklace to my boyfriend for his birthday and he wears it everyday.
But I guess it's different when you are giving it to your friends. I don't know what you mean by your friends getting "surprised" if they see the gift...

1.) Surprised as in creeped out and they think it's weird that you went through the hassle to get their names engraved on a gift (not a hassle, but you know what I mean).

2.) Surprised as in "oh my gosh this is so sweet and thoughtful!"

I guess it really depends on how close you are as friends...

and yes, they must still be popular since there are so many shops and online stores that sell pretty much anything you can imagine to get personalized lol.
I for one would love to receive one of these gifts, I think they are sweet.
Hope this somewhat helps, :)

Forgotten gift etiquette?

Cubit

My good friend and I exchange gifts for Christmas and birthdays, and usually spend around $100. We see each other 1-2 times a month, so this past Christmas, I gave my friend my gift early. After Christmas, she sent me a message saying we should get together because she had a Christmas gift for me and a souvenir from her holiday vacation. A week or so later, when we got together, she brought some candy from her vacation, but no gift. I just saw her again, and she has made no mention of the gift since that initial message. I don't want to come off as greedy and it seems like a faux pas to mention anything about it, but what could have happened? And what should I do? Just forget it?

Answer
It doesn't matter what happened. You don't mention it, ever. Its never appropriate to ask even in a roundabout way "where's my gift?" If she brings it up, pretend you'd not thought about it, give her a chance to save face.

Answer
Found this, Should be helpful:

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Active Aries is always looking for ways to stay in shape, particularly during the holiday season... so athletic equipment is usually a good choice. People born under this sign are also fond of the color red, so a cranberry scarf or a scarlet hat could win their favor. If romance is in the air, let Aries know that you put his or her needs first. Buy tickets for two to a sporting event you loathe... or a CD by an artist you can't stand... to win big points with your favorite Ram.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates any gift that appeals to his or her sensual side. A box of gourmet chocolates, a richly colored tapestry or a soft cashmere blanket are all great options for Bulls. This sign also enjoys having money to play with, so a gift certificate to their favorite store is a welcome option. Always remember that quality is more important than quantity – Taurus would rather have a small bottle of expensive cologne than a carafe of the cheap stuff.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Quick-witted Geminis enjoys gifts that appeal to their sizable intellects. A challenging book is always welcome, as is a magazine subscription. This sign rules the hands, so some scented hand lotion or a sparkling ring might delight. Geminis also love to entertain, so a set of glassware might fit the bill. If you want to splurge on a special Twin, give them the latest cell phone or PDA, so they can keep in touch with their gazillion friends.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sentimental Cancer loves gifts that have personal meaning. Handmade items always delight, whether it's a finger painting, angora sweater or mincemeat pie. This sign also has a special affinity for silver – a monogrammed hand mirror or picture frame would be very well received. Since Crabs have an affinity for liquids of all kinds, a special bottle of wine, a fancy cappuccino maker or a shiny tea kettle are also good possibilities. And don't forget that these Moon children love the domestic arts – a cookbook specializing in comfort food is another sure winner.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Lions love gifts that make them look and feel terrific. Hair accessories, cosmetics and grooming items are all good choices for this image-conscious sign. Leos love drama, and enjoy presents that involve a bit of flair. Opera tickets, gold jewelry or animal print lingerie are right up this cat's alley. Leos also love to gamble, so a sheaf of lottery tickets or a weekend getaway to the casino could make them purr with delight. When shopping for clothing, remember that Lions have a special affinity for red, gold and purple.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgins love practical gifts...so avoid dust-catching baubles. A bread-making machine or a power drill would be equally welcome. These folks are also known to pride themselves on their impeccable appearance. Scented soaps, lotions and shampoos made by an earth-friendly company might be just the ticket. Virgos are also incredibly organized and might appreciate a good watch or a leather-bound date book. Or try a health-conscious basket of organic foodstuffs.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Librans have a special affinity for music, and always appreciate a good CD to add to their voluminous collection. If you want to do something really special for a Libran friend, splurge on a two concert tickets – this sign hates to do anything alone. Born beneath the sign of the scales, they also need plenty of balance in their lives, so a pair of candlesticks or bookends might appeal. If you're still stumped for ideas, have a lavish bouquet of red roses delivered accompanied by a loving handwritten note.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpions are secretive by nature and enjoy gifts that obscure their appearance in some way. A pair of designer sunglasses, a filmy scarf or a slouchy hat are all great choices for this sign. These mystery-lovers also enjoy moody, atmospheric stories. A collection of film noirs on DVD are sure to go over well with your favorite Scorpion. The rumors concerning this sign's sexual appetite are happily true, so seductive lingerie would get plenty of use. Since Scorpions also like to get beneath the surface; a gift certificate for a deep-cleansing facial will be appreciated.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
As far as Archers are concerned, half the fun of getting gifts is ripping them open! If Sag doesn't like a present, though, he or she will tell you outright. Avoid awkward scenes this holiday season by giving this outdoor enthusiast some camping equipment. Hiking boots or a water-proof parka would also be appropriate. These animal lovers adore any gift associated with their pets. A calendar filled with pictures of dogs or horses is sure to elicit a big smile. Finally, you can always feed this sign's wanderlust with a comprehensive atlas.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career-oriented Capricorn always enjoys gifts that will boost their job status. A leather laptop carrier or monogrammed briefcase would be welcome. Contrary to popular belief, though, Goats aren't all work and no play. This sign is blessed with a wicked sense of humor, so try the BBC's "The Office" series on DVD. Capricorns also love luxurious presents they'd never buy for themselves, like a silk bathrobe.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
You never know what this unpredictable sign will be doing from moment to moment – one week it's skydiving and the next it's yoga! Still, this quirky sign always appreciates technological gadgets, whether it's an all-region DVD player or an iPod Nano. If you'd like to choose something a little more personal, why not make a photo album detailing all of your exploits with the Water-Bearer? Aquarius may not show it, but they harbor a special fondness for their friends. Still stumped for ideas? A basket filled with brand new socks is both weird and practical enough for this sign, which rules the ankles.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
These mystics love gifts of all kinds, but especially ones that help them escape the harsh realities of life. A bottle of champagne, a kaleidoscope or a book of fairy tales will appeal to your Fishy friends. And because Pisces is a Water sign, it's a good bet they'll appreciate bath salts, foaming cleansers and shower gels. If you'd like to give something really special, a digital camera will make a bit hit with this natural-born photographer. Looking for a romantic gift? Choose a gilt-edged volume of love poetry.

Cheers!

19th Birthday gift ideas?

Cody

So my 19th birthday is tomorrow, and I have no idea what to ask for. My parents are pressing me for gift ideas, and I don't know what to say. I just got a truck, I already have a laptop, and an Xbox 360, which i don't ever use. I have an ipod too, and enough clothes for 3 people. I don't really want anything because all i do is hang with friends and browse the internet and study anyways. But I have to tell them something. Their spending limit is prolly $100-$150. Please help :/

Answer
Happy birthday! I have an April fools day birthday too! I think you emailed me! Anything for school maybe? A new backpack or books. 19...not the scratch card/cigar birthday you had last year lol. Something to enhance hanging with friends like a grill for tailgating. Or maybe tickets to a sports game. If you like sports, some supplies. Maybe an Itunes gift card for your Ipod, and Starbucks or Jamba Juice gift cards are always nice to have. Again, have a fantastic birthday! :-)

A gift of love? What would you give?

Kelly Fran

Basically, if you were to give a gift of love to anyone WHO would it be?
WHAT would the gift be? WHY?

It's just for curiosity? It could be as meaningful and to as (un)reasonable as you want, since the holidays and Christmas are coming.

Answer
The gift would go to the little boy down the street who doesn't live with his parents; he seems so lonely. I'd take him sledding with our son who is the same age. My gift would go beyond that, though. I'd give him more of a family life - include him in our family activities. Which is what we plan on doing.

Merry Christmas.

Anyone remember the gift "Love In A Box"?

Rissa

It was something I think was out years ago...it was a little box that wasn't supposed to be opened and it had a little tag that was attached to the box with the poem "Love in a box" printed out on it, does anyone remember the original poem to it?? Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

Answer
I think it was this (I found this online):

I took an ordinary box
As empty as can be
I filled it with a special gift
And wrapped it carefully.

But please don't ever open it
Just leave the ribbon tied
And hold it tightly near your heart
Because my love for you's inside!

If you prefer to use bows over ribbon, simply adjust the poem to read:

I took an ordinary box
As empty as can be
I filled it with a special gift
And wrapped it carefully.

But please don't ever open it
Just leave the bow applied
And hold it tightly near your heart
Because my love for you's inside!

Hope this helps. Good luck! I'll try to continue searching and see if anything else comes up.

[edit] I found two more variations online:

"This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason that it's special
It's just for you from me
Whenever you are lonely
Or when you're feeling blue
You only have to hold this
gift and know I think of you
You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold this box close to your heart
It's filled with love inside
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

"I'm giving you a present,
It's my love inside a box.
It's not too much to look at,
But it's the best I've got.

So I hope it makes you happy,
If it doesn't, I never can.
But if love in a box is worth it, then,
I'll take you by the hand."

Wedding Anniversary Gift Idea?

Ikie

It's my sisters first wedding anniversary is coming up. What are some possible gifts I could get her? Price limit is $100.

Thanks,
Ikie

Answer
The traditional 1st anniversary gift is paper. So, personalized stationery with both the couples' names, or for just her with her married name (check out Crane & Co.). Or, you could do playing cards (made of paper, so...) from Tiffany & Co. and the gift tag can say "You played your cards right! Happy Anniversary!" of course you're not obligated to give them an anniversary gift but it's a very thoughtful idea. A really great site for unique and beautiful gifts is Layla Grayce, they have a lot of pretty stuff and I'm sure you can find something for her there. Or for both of them if you would prefer that. Also look through Red Envelope.com and Uncommon Goods.com for ideas if you still need them.

7th Anniversary Gift?

Hawk

Help! I need an anniversary gift for my wife of 7 years. We're coming off having a baby, and things are great. I'm not looking to break the bank. Any input would be great!!!

Answer
7th Anniversary Traditional Gift:
Copper or Wool.

7th Anniversary Contemporary/Modern Gift:
Desk Sets.

I purchased this beautiful copper statue (stands about 12" tall about $60 or so) of a man and woman under his coat in the rain, kissing...my husband really loved it - it's a great statue and a wonderful reflection of the two of us. We have it on one of the prominent shelves in our family room. We always use the anniversary gift (modern or traditional) list when we go shopping - it makes for a fun "scavenger" hunt for anniversary gifts. We've had some very creative anniversaries that way.

Laser hair removal for xmas?

JonahsWhal

Ok, we are not doing much this year for xmas except for the kids. My wife and I are doing 1 present each. She has a little prob with slight whiskers coming in lightly on the chin. She usually plucks them and wants to get it lasered in that one spot.

Would that be a good gift, or not for xmas? Gift certs to ideal image? I know she wants it, just not sure about xmas?

Answer
Laser is not the answer, it's a LIFETIME commitment, and the only ones benefiting is the company making profits. ONCE she stopped, the hair will grow back like before. We've plucks our hair for ages!

Grandma and my grandma before me, did that. So are the future grandmothers. We've tired everything else, but plucking never goes out of style.

Do you know how much hair you got? That will cost a lot of money!!!!

Lasers work best on people with pale skin and dark hair (like me!), but these days there are even options for women with dark skin and light hair. Keep in mind dark skin may require 2-3 more sessions.

It's impossible to predict how successful lasers will work on everyone. Results depend on the quality of the laser, the type of hair you have and the number of procedures you have done. Never trust a company that guarantees hair removal. I suggest you try to a consultation in person before you sign up.

Laser hair removal isn't cheap (about $200-$500 a session depending on where you live and the areas being treated. Again, it takes about 6 sessions to get rid of 70% of hair permanently. Touch-ups are always an option at about $100-$150 a session. With treatments averaging $65 per five minutes and a series of sessions required, permanent hair removal businesses are being set up in shopping centres and beauty clinics.

Glamour magazine ex-editor ended up scarred for life. For this very reason, you want to skip the discount places and get treated by a trained technician at an established medical facility. These places do NOT offer discounts.

Example of one who had them done.
My laser hair removal treatment takes 8 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart to see 60 percent reduction in hair growth. For best results, I got maintenance treatments done once a year for 4 years . Now I don't want to do this anymore! what is the best way to remove them from now on ?

THE laser hair removal industry should be subject to national regulations to protect people from being burned in their quest to remove unwanted body hair, consumer magazine Choice says. An investigation of six salons and clinics in Sydney found four had staff who were not trained in operating hair removal machines, while two had received training from the equipment manufacturer. ~ AAP, October 20, 2011

Laser or waxing, once you stopped, THEY WILL COME BACK as before. It's totally a waste of $$$$. It is a billion dollar business, btw. NONE is permanent.

Gifted...?

PureSerend

I'm not giving my age, but I'm young enough to still be in school. I've been identified as gifted practically from the moment I set foot in day care, already able to read at age 3. Being "gifted" has been hard in some ways socially, especially when I skipped a grade in elementary school.

I've heard ridiculous things such as the gov spending $0.03 on accelerated education for every $100 they spend on Special Ed. I realize that Special Ed kids need help too - some of my friends are in Special Ed - but my district has NOTHING for the gifted children. Next year my parents are sending me to private school, but I'd like to know: is the public school system being fair?

I'm really bored sometimes. Everything - sports, language, math/sciences, arts - they all come easily to me. I'm very, very grateful for this, but don't I deserve a chance to hone my talents, too?
I live in a rich suburbian town where the school board is reluctant to create "gifted" programs, because all the parents think their precious children are gifted. And these parents provide valuable funding and have considerable power.

Answer
I am on the other side of the fence than where you are, or I should say my niece is who is autistic. I recently started research of what her parents can and can not do as far as assistance and help to mature the child's learning skills.
I am glad you feel lucky that you have "a gift", but I can also see your frustration.
Is the public school system being fair? Flat out NO! In your case to meet your needs they jump you up grades. Autistic children they push into the public school system with little to no help being nothing more than a day care. Seems the only way for "the gifted" or "slow children" to get proper attention and assistance is for the family to have money.
In your defense, I agree with you. You not only need to have a way to expand your learning abilities, but also time to be a kid and have fun. With that said, you might think of devoting time towards the things you love doing and follow your heart.
Best wishes and good luck!

Answer
I assume this is the Liberty Pass from Pokemon Black & White?
It was distributed wirelessly as a gift but only during late 2010 to early 2011, so there's no point trying to get it as a mystery gift at this time.

Some gifts can be shared, one person with it can give it to another using the Wondercard option but sadly you can't do it with the Liberty Pass, sorry.

Need gift ideas for for daughters 18th birthday .?

dixiegurl

I want to give her something meaningful, like a keepsake.
I want her to be able to keep it for a long time, but not too expensive. (jewelry, maybe). Maybe engravable with a date.? Help!!!! Her birthday is Dec. 16.

Answer
He he... I just turned 18 last month. My mom gave me a necklace from just her. You know those "best friends" necklaces with the broken heart? Well this one said mother and daughter on it. It meant a lot to me that she got that. I'll keep it forever.

What was your sweet 18th birthday gift?

65th wedding anniversary gift for parents?

katsura356

I have NO idea. They are in their mid-80's. They are well-off and don't "need" anything. Health is not the best (they can't take trips, or go sky-diving, etc.).

No photos - the other two siblings are fighting over that. One is having a wedding photo digitally restored and blown up and framed, the other decided to "one up" him and has commissioned an oil painting of a more recent photo of them (in their early 60's) so that idea is done and done.

We are taking them out for dinner with the whole family, including all children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.

But what to get them to mark the occasion? Help!

Answer
Gift certificates are a great way to go.
A certificate to a great restaurant, an afternoon at the ballet or theater. What ever they enjoy.

Even a subscription to a magazine or activity they can do together and/with family members.

Question for the guys on birthday gifts?

What would you honestly want and appreciate for your 19th birthday from your girlfriend? My bf's special day is in a little over a month, I don't want any corny take him to dinner make him a scrapbook crap or kinky sex ideas. With physical gifts, I like to be creative, so the more out of the box the better. And as far as the other physical...like I said...creative, not kinky lol

My boyfriend has a G35. His second love =)
So if that can be put into any of your suggestions...

good graduation gifts?

al

I'm graduating this May, and my parents have been asking me what I would like for a gift. I was thinking of asking for a nice watch that I've been wanting, but then again perhaps I would like a new laptop. But since I'm staying home for school for now I dont really need one. What is everyone else getting for graduation??

Answer
For my graduation, I asked for practical things that weren't wants, but needs. A laptop is a great thing to ask for because even if you don't need it right now...you will! Plus, it's a nice gift since it can be pricey :/ Other than my laptop, I got things for my dorm. If you are not planning on going to school right away, money is not a bad thing to ask for. Save up...college is not cheap!!

College Graduation Gift?

Jill

Okay, so I'm 16 and my 21 year old sister is going to graduate from her first four years of college in May. I don't know what to get her? For her high school graduation I made her like a scrap book with a bunch of pictures and fun stuff, so I didn't want to repeat that gift. I don't know, maybe if anyone has any cool ideas for me you could share them. Thanks a lot!

Answer
College graduation is always an exciting time. For my college graduation a few years ago, one of my most memorable gifts was a beautiful afghan. Now you can get a personalized afghan by sending one of your favorite photos to be printed on the fabric. My friend gave me one of these for Christmas, it’s a very personal and keepsake item. So maybe you could find a favorite photo of you and your sister, or the entire family to be placed on an afghan.

If your sister travels a lot or plans on taking a vacation after graduation, a travel gift card from American Airlines, Avis Car Rental, her favorite hotel chain or restaurant would make a practical gift she could use. As a frequent traveler myself, I found a list of travel gift cards I use at: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_for_travel_and_fun.htm
You could fix up a graduation gift card basket with family vacation postcards, sport or concert ticket stubs you both attended and photos as a token of the memories you two shared together.

If your sister loves shopping, then maybe a gift card from Saks Fifth Avenue, T.J. Maxx, Gap, L.L. Bean or Macys to name a few from a list of the most popular shopping gift cards here: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_shopping.htm would be a nice gift. Or a gift card from her favorite hair salon or spa? You could spend the day shopping together as a “girl’s day out.”

I think the best present you could give her is to attend her graduation and show her your love and support. I am sure whatever you decide to give her as a gift will be truly appreciated!
