good graduation gifts?

al

I'm graduating this May, and my parents have been asking me what I would like for a gift. I was thinking of asking for a nice watch that I've been wanting, but then again perhaps I would like a new laptop. But since I'm staying home for school for now I dont really need one. What is everyone else getting for graduation??

Answer
For my graduation, I asked for practical things that weren't wants, but needs. A laptop is a great thing to ask for because even if you don't need it right now...you will! Plus, it's a nice gift since it can be pricey :/ Other than my laptop, I got things for my dorm. If you are not planning on going to school right away, money is not a bad thing to ask for. Save up...college is not cheap!!

College Graduation Gift?

Jill

Okay, so I'm 16 and my 21 year old sister is going to graduate from her first four years of college in May. I don't know what to get her? For her high school graduation I made her like a scrap book with a bunch of pictures and fun stuff, so I didn't want to repeat that gift. I don't know, maybe if anyone has any cool ideas for me you could share them. Thanks a lot!

College graduation is always an exciting time. For my college graduation a few years ago, one of my most memorable gifts was a beautiful afghan. Now you can get a personalized afghan by sending one of your favorite photos to be printed on the fabric. My friend gave me one of these for Christmas, it’s a very personal and keepsake item. So maybe you could find a favorite photo of you and your sister, or the entire family to be placed on an afghan.

If your sister travels a lot or plans on taking a vacation after graduation, a travel gift card from American Airlines, Avis Car Rental, her favorite hotel chain or restaurant would make a practical gift she could use. As a frequent traveler myself, I found a list of travel gift cards I use at: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_for_travel_and_fun.htm
You could fix up a graduation gift card basket with family vacation postcards, sport or concert ticket stubs you both attended and photos as a token of the memories you two shared together.

If your sister loves shopping, then maybe a gift card from Saks Fifth Avenue, T.J. Maxx, Gap, L.L. Bean or Macys to name a few from a list of the most popular shopping gift cards here: http://www.debit-card-guide.com/gift_cards_shopping.htm would be a nice gift. Or a gift card from her favorite hair salon or spa? You could spend the day shopping together as a “girl’s day out.”

I think the best present you could give her is to attend her graduation and show her your love and support. I am sure whatever you decide to give her as a gift will be truly appreciated!
